Reviews on Spanish food in San Juan del Sur, Rivas Department, Nicaragua. This beautiful fishing village is a Nicaraguan gem, a magnet for surfers and sunbathers. At night, the beach still pulses with activity, thanks to a few popular beachfront bars and nightclubs. Surf clubs abound—catch a wave with an expert instructor if you’re a hang-ten rookie, trying to hang with the surfer big boys.

After a very disappointing experience in nearby Josselines,we literally went next door and found a completely different experience. Our assigned waiter Gustavo went above and beyond making our experience as wonderful as possible. The food was incredible. We both had the fish and it was delicious, but what was even more wonderful was that we felt welcomed and at home. The view of the beach set a romantic air and we had a great time. Will definately revisit!

Not impressed! Waited quite awhile for service, and it was not friendly. Over charged for chairs. I'd recommend going next door to the hostel restaurant. They were cheaper and quite friendly!

Now this is place to eat. Big portions, very inexpensive and delicious. We loved everything about the authentic outdoor BBQ here. They may be cooking on the street and it looks sketchy but we ate there twice and had great meals both times. Beats paying a fortune for the meals on the beach.

This food is delicious. It is also cheap. Eat here. I have to use 100 characters, but there is nothing else to say. You should eat here, and your friends should too.

Very poor cocktails - my mojito looked like pond water. You couldn't take a sip without getting a mouthful of rotten mint leaf. When we politely tried to explain to the staff their rude response was "well that's how we make mojitos." They took the mojitos away and still charged us for them?! Don't waste your money here - head to any of the other (better) bars on the beach.Thank you for your comment,so sorry we try to do better and not was possible

Delicious local food, reggae music, great location close to the beach, best prices
Some friends of our fished with the owners of this place and they cooked us up a spectacular meal with the fish they caught for a very reasonable price. They were great guys, friendly and very attentive. Would definitely go back!

Terraza de Palermo is located in Villas de Palermo hotel and resort. We offer daily seafood specials, authentic Nicaraguan dishes and weekday happy hour specials. Guests can eat at the restaurant and enjoy the resort pool. Situated on a hillside, the rest
We stayed for two weeks in Villas de Palermo and ate most of our lunches and dinners at Terraza de Palermo inside Villas de Palermo. Chef Johnny figured out that I love fresh fish and we had a different type of fish almost every night. The buffet lunches and dinners were fantastic - but we also tried many options from the menu and even made up a couple that were served just as we requested. The fresh squeezed juices are a wonderful base for cocktails, smoothies and just refreshing drinks with some soda added! The cappucinos were delicious and we made a game of trying to guess the design made with the foamed milk! The waiters are all attentive and remember your preferences from day to day. Poolside service is much better than in years past. I was even handed a water in a plastic glass when I didn't flag down a waiter for an umbrella drink! The best was Saturday night with live music, every villa sold out and a fun party in the pool, around the bar and in the restaurant. Little twinkling lights decorated all the palm trees and shrubs around the pool. That night made me want to stay forever!!!Be sure to sit on the wood decks near the pool shaded by almond trees with a cool drink and watch the sunsets. Just can't be beat!Thank you very much Mrs. Sharon! We are happy that you enjoyed your last vacation trip at Palermo, and we hope that you will visit us in the future. Good luck in all of your endeavors! Susan CalderaConcierge at Villas de Palermo.
