Find out what Spanish restaurants to try in Regensburg. Founded by the Romans in 179 AD as Casta Regina (meaning Fortress by the River Regen), Regensburg is one of Germany's oldest towns. It was relatively spared from Allied bombings during World War II. Today, many flock to see the wonderfully intact old city and its many medieval structures. The 12th-century Stone Bridge was used by Crusaders en route to the Holy Land. The Regensburg Cathedral (or Dom St. Peter) is one of southern Germany's finest examples of Gothic architecture.

Located a stone's throw from the back of the L'Orphee hotel where we were staying, Bodega is a very nice tapas restaurant that seems to cater mostly for the young and cool. We chanced our luck on a Saturday night and although we had to wait a while, finally got a table, or should I say barrel. Food was really good quality, with specials of the day, and although not that cheap, was not outrageously expensive either. It was quite loud, but you could still have a conversation.Only thing which lets it down, as is so often the case with restaurants in Germany, was the service. Our waitress seemed stressed and every time you caught her attention to ask her for another dish or a drink (itself no mean feat) it felt like you were being a nuisance. We then decided not to ask for too much.If that doesn't bother you, I would recommend the restaurant for the food and the lively atmosphere.

Well the good thing first: The food is indeed not bad. I can recommend the tasting menu for 2 with 3 different traditional Peruvian dishes to try.But that's were the positive ends. The service was unlike anything I have ever experienced. Somewhere between total indifference and plain rudeness. One of our group wanted to just have plain tap water and she refused and pushed her into ordering mineral water. When I paid with my card by entering a PIN she still asked me to sign. I asked why and she started yelling at me something that this are her rules and she wouldn't let up until I signed. Kinda felt more like in a prison then in a restaurant from the tone she used.Anyhow your choice. If you don't mind rude service then you could try it but if you like to have a nice evening then don't.

Very good eating! The service could improve, there was only one person attending at least 7-8 tables..drinks didn't arrived simultaneously, not enough plates and cutlery brough to the table.Prices are very good; just have to be lucky enough to catch a *good* day where the food taste good!
