El CaserÃo is not only a restaurant to me, it is an experience that I have decided to share with friends and colleagues. Fabada asturiana and most importantly Lechón a la Segoviana are things you have to try. Not cheap, but so worth it.

This is a really great place. The food is spanish-type/influence, but with international touches. They have a nice wine list and liquor options. The wellington beef was amazing, made with serrano ham instead or patee.

The concept is excellent. I was able to try all the options and I cannot tell which is better. If you are a foody, you can't miss La Glotoneria. In short, fast food gourmet style. Thursday and Friday nights they have live music. Greatly recommended.

You really have to try Planta Alta (top floor) a super Modern setting --open spaces industrial finish, apparent pipes, very New York-like-- inside one of the best places to go out in Querétaro (Hércules, an old factory turned into brewery/beer garden). They have an excellent choice of roasted meats and sea food (the pulpo is a must), pastas, and desserts. Prices are mid-high to high, but worth it. I gave them only four stars because their wine selection was rather poor and because they have a ventilation problem, due to its open spaces, smoke from the kitchen floods the dining area and your clothes and eyes pay the price for the restaurant's original decor. They are working on a fix for this, the manager assured us.

If you're a meat lover, you'll love Pampas! The meat selections are endless. There is a painted hourglass on each table and if you turn it up green, waiters will keep coming to your table with an endless supply of meat skewers that they slice onto your plate. There is a salad bar where you can help yourself to some greens but little other vegetables. They also have seafood but we never ordered any. It's a flat 250 MXN per person and you can eat as much as you like. Drinks and dessert are added on. This is a very popular restaurant and people are lined out the door waiting for opening time at 1300. We got there at 1700 and waited 45 minutes to get a seat. Sometimes the wait is longer. But it is well worth it because the meat is fresh and everyone tends to eat too much. So beware! It's a family-friendly place with lots of buzz!

Dongu is pure, understated class in design on a lovely pedestrian street in the Historic District. There is nothing understated on the menu, however. The dishes are well- researched Querétaro ones nearing extinction in some cases. Ricardo, the amiable young chef- owner has revitalized them. Some are Otomà in origin. All stimulate the taste buds. Given that the ingredients are the freshest and the dishes are prepared with skill and affection, they should excite the palate. The artistic presentation enhances. I began my meal with nopales in a xoconostle compote. The cactus was as flavorful as can be. Tender, ultra-fresh lubina or mahi mahi followed wrapped in hoja santa leaf. It was surrounded by a delicious, light tomato sauce that didn't overwhelm. I drank tepache with it. Pineapple, native to Mexico, had a slight alcoholic fermented fizz in the drink analogous to European cider. It was Beyond refreshing. On my second visit I dove into tender rabbit carnitas with a Queretano mole. Truly mouth watering and delicious. And you must sin with the light, non- greasy buñuelo de Santa Rosa with ice cream and a guava compote. The little state of Querétaro's superb cuisine is far more than cracked corn torta said. The best thankfully has left the villages and arrived in the city of Querétaro at Dongu. I thank Ricardo for bringing it here to enjoy. You should perhaps partake in the pleasure soon!

Mexican-Mediterranean Fusion Food
Last time I visited Queretaro I wanted to try this place out but didnât quite get round to it. So this time I took the first opportunity and headed to Chamizo. Coffee and the ricotta and blueberry salad (see photo). Coffee was good but the ensalada was totally awesome (yes, salads can be awesome! Check out the photo!). Such amazing flavours and textures. Nice spot to watch the world go by too.

This is a most in Queretaro business travel to get along with customers and either special occasions. We tried red peppers filled with tuna, solomillo, beef tongue "al chipotle" plus turron ice cream, milky rice cake and fig cake. All marinated with a good selection of Spanish and Mexican wines. Service is outstanding, environment Spanish like and prices fair for quality. Everyone finished my lunch full, satisfied and happy. Come here!!!

Amazing Mexican tapas cooked to absolute perfection. I canât speak highly of the food here. Service excellent if slightly over formal. The steak tartare is incredible (full of flavour), the Spanish tortilla lovely and eggy inside, the aubergine slices are tempurered to perfection. Amazing!
