We decided to go with a large group of friends (all of them Punta del Este residents), to try out this newly opened restaurant. We booked one day in advance a large table at 20:00, and most of us were there on time........much to our surprise, they started preparing the fire for the barbecue.......at 20:10..... No need to tell you that we ended up having the first piece of cooked meat at 21:15 !!! No planning, no preparation. To add insult to injury, we ordered three mixed appetizers to share while we waited for the main course. 40 minutes after we placed the order they realized that they had never told the cook about it. We ended up canceling it !! Folks, I think we can understand that mistakes are made, and particularly on a recently opened restaurant. What is inadmissible is that aside from a reluctant apology for the mix-up and the monstrous delay, there was no effort from the owner to redress the matter. She could have offered a free bottle of wine, or a couple of free meals on our next visit, or just a small token of appreciation to have us eventually return to the restaurant. Nothing, zilch. They don't´t have the foggiest idea of what is customer service. The result is that they now have 16 of us which will never return, and, even worse, we will be sure to spread the word. It's a pity because the place is nice, and the food is not too bad.Thank you for your review however you have reviewed us twice - once in Spanish and once in English - as this is not allowed on TripAdviser, I have asked TripAdvisor to take one of these down as it brings down our review ratings. Furthermore, I did try to approach your table (I being the owner of Nuestra Mesa) - I went with the waiter to try to resolve the fact that he did not enter your appetizer into the system. I was waved off without being given a chance to speak and told very clearly to forget it and bring your main course. This is what I instructed my staff to do. Sometimes there is no way to heal a problem if the client is not willing to allow you to do so. The waiter was on trial and did not make it to the Nuestra Mesa team and I am sorry to say that as much as I appreciate your comments you are clearly overstating what happened in a very unfair way. I hope our clients read this review and understand that every customer is important to Nuestra Mesa and this exeprience is definitely one that never happens at Nuestra Mesa.

Itâs very nice ! Itâs like a sea market! You get lots of seafood salad, fresh sushi and they charge you by weight. I really liked it , I ate sushi and salads with salmon and octopus all very good. Very very expensive we paid 93$ food for 2 adults and 2 children but worth it. And the location is very nice . Paella was ok. Itâs better to have the fresh salads . Oh and they charged me 3 times in the credit card the machine was not working so never got a voucher and now I have to deal with VISA

We are a classic restaurant in Punta del Este, with more than 30 years providing services. We have a wide variety of fish and seafood, Grill fish, as well as pasta and meat. Incomparable view of the Bay of Punta del Este and the Gorriti`s Island
First of all Punta del Este and Uruguay are known as the Switzerland of South America for good reason (We used to live in Switzerland). What a difference here than other countries in SA.When you arrive by tender from a cruise ship the local tourism authorities hand out local maps, but with no scale of kilometers. At first it seems that walking anywhere could be a long trip, but in fact the distances are much shorter than they seem. La Marea is actually a short walk from the pier with shady al fresco dining, great views and friendly service, and the food is outstanding. We had the salmon and sweet potato special and my wife said it was possibly the best meal she has ever had (she has lived, visited, and worked in more than 80 countries). We had two great meals and four drinks for less than $50!

I have been to this lovely restaurant so many time since it opened! We love going there with friends, or taking the kids, since the food is outstanding, the ingredients extremely fresh (yesterday we had brotola, the local and delicious fish) the service wonderfully friendly and the atomosphere pleasant and relaxed. The builing is an old house, beautifully restored, in front of lovely Plaza del Vigia, with its tower that can be seen from the patio. It really is fine dining for a mid-range price.

For 70 years the vision of the immigrant Basque Ascension Iturria is repeated; the best dishes..., In the best place. With a perfect view of the Harbor, Mariskonea is renewed. Our classic dishes flavored Basque acquired the unique taste that only experts
I am a frequent Punta del Este tourist. I´ve been going to Punta for over 51 years now and Mariskonea has always been one of those restaurants where you always leave satisfied. Not too big, so it doesnt get extremely crowded, with pretty reasonable prices and a superb couisine. Right from the moment you walk in, the owner´s son in law receives you as if you were the most important customer. The atmosphere, the port right across the street, the same waiters and waitresses from previous years, make you feel more than satisfied. Many many thanks, allways welcome!!!regardsGonzalo

Coming to PDE five times in the past 10 years, we always visit Virazon at least once. The lunch is excellent. We shared a grilled fish entree and typical Uruguay beef sandwich. The service is always excellent. Using our American credit card, they didnât charge the 22% tax.

La Cava, restaurant and barbecue, is located in the heart of Punta del Este and provides a unique, relaxed and cozy environment. Our chef, who looks after every detail, elaborates gourmet dishes offering a very varied menu which includes meat, fish, salad
We were out in Punta late on Easter Tuesday, and this was literally the only place open. But it was fine - obliging service, comfortable room and HUGE portions. They plan to open all year round, and by the number of people dining, they will do well. Decent wine list, good barbecue food - what's not to like?

The best kept secret in Punta del Este! Fish, seafood, paellas, and selected Basque dishes at its best. Nice environment. Service: very good, our waiters Juan and Ms Florencia were great! We ordered: Moules Provençale (Mejillones al Ajillo), and Grilled Octopus as appetizers and Vegetarian Paella to share as a main. As a dessert Caramelized Apple Pancakes with vanilla ice cream. Food: Excellent! Highly recommended! Will definitely come back! âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸
