Outstanding selection of tapas. Really liked the garlic prawns and potato with alioli. Not sure why "DonBoy" found the potatoes to strongly garlic flavoured. The service was a little slow - all the more time to enjoy the views to Canigo and drink a pichet of the excellent house rosé! Everything was piping hot and freshly cooked. We returned later in the week and really enjoyed a Jazz Concert - part of the Les Nits d'Eus festival. Les Nits is an annual event held at the cafe and a few other local venues. It has an eclectic programme ranging from chamber music to jazz and some poetry too.

Nestled into the historic walls of the Grand Hôtel, Café Casals features two beautiful dining-rooms. The first one plays on a very catalan tempo, with its wooden ceillings and its ceramic tiles. A perfect place for a romantic dinner. The second one lays i
OK, we were at the Grand Hotel to sample the spa facilities and to explore the area so a top class meal was not our main priority but given the reputation of the hotel and the clientele, the one evening meal we had there was not memorable! Both the starters and main courses we had were bland as was the rosé wine we chose. OK, they were our choices and based on the descriptions, they should have been good but they were not!The positive to come out of it was that it prompted us to look elsewhere for our second night meal and that was a real find!

We work mainly fresh seasonal products with our local producers, ensuring the freshness of our food. Everything is cooked on site by chef Patrick, wine specialist with a degree in Oenology, who invites you to discover our Terroirs Catalans. At the service
We have been several times and the staff are very helpful. Chiefly they serve the people staying at the thermal spa but they do a good varied set lunch at a very reasonable price for 2 or 3 courses. Seating indoors and some outside. They open end March to late November. Simple food well cooked. WC is difficult to access downstairs but there is a ground floor WC in the spa next door. They close quite early in the evenings. Local produce and Catalan French food.
