If you haven't tried pollo campero yet you should!!! Unlike kfc their chicken is packed with latin spices and tastes a lot better. I always bring my friends here on the weekends and we order the 12 piece family meal with yuca fries, plantanes, dinner rolls and ofcourse to drink horchata! I dig it and I bet you will to

Being someone who thinks Costco is good road chicken I was in for a real treat. The chicken was roasted to perfection. The skin was dark with the many spies that flavored this slow roasted bird. We got through hew hole chicken a salad and some fries. The also gave us a green guacamole sauce to flavor our food. The fries were done in a fresh oil and had a great taste even without any ketchup. The place was clean and well appointed. I would of like to have gotten something off their fish menu as the platters moving by us were almost rt work. But leave that for next visit. Prices for what you get are very fair.

The Spanish Tavern is the premier destination in New Jersey for awarding winning traditional and contemporary Spanish cuisine.
Great food and fabulous deals on weekday lunch. I must say though Iâve been going to this restaurant for over 30 years and the service was always excellent but not so much this time. Maybe because they have new owners they havenât staffed up yet which I hope they do by the next time we go. After all there is a myriad of good Spanish restaurants in the area so you always want to put your best foot forward. Good luck to them. Thank you for taking the time to leave your review! It's hard around Jersey because everyone thinks of Spanish food as Mexican or Caribbean ( South American). Then there's the Portuguese palate of food in Newark. Now a couple of other good Portuguese restaurants popped up in South River and Perth Amboy. My favorite is BASQUE. Northern Spain. Similar to Portuguese but different. The difference is some dishes. Garlic shrimp and Spanish sausage are great in both restaurants. But you can't find Pork & Clams in a Basque restaurant and you can't find Veal Extremena in a Portuguese restaurant. Both delicious by the way. The taste of the food in this restaurant is out of this world. Garlic....Butter...Fresh made breads and Sangria. You can't beat it. And if you want something special just ask the owner, Louie and he will make sure you are pleased. It may not be cheap but you get what you pay for. And enough for lunch tomorrow.
