Boutiques, upscale chain stores and street vendors, as wells as casinos and a wide range of restaurants, dance clubs and bars, make Oranjestad a popular destination in Aruba. In addition to shopping, dining and entertainment, the island's capital city offers museums, a butterfly farm, art galleries, golf, historical sites and a marina. The island's colonization by the Netherlands shows in Oranjestad's Dutch colonial architecture, while the buildings' bright colors are distinctly Caribbean.
Things to do in Oranjestad
So we had passed this location several times and on the weekends this place is unbelievably busy, with cars parked down the street, people lined out the door. All locals, mostly for take-home meals, but some also to eat-in. (the seats are very average fast-food type)We decided that we just had to try here, but on a weekday and not at the noon lunch hour..The staff was very helpful guiding us to the meals that we might best like. The portions are large, the sides & rotisserie chicken are excellent. The prices are LOW in our opinion. Easy to find on main route 4 in Tanki Leenhardton the way to Paradera, near the Wendyâs (Kikorico is the better choice)Highly recommended! We will return!

Was in search of something authentic away from all of the resorts/tourist attractions; Casa Vieja did not disappoint! The food was amazing, the service was friendly (and very tolerant of my rusty Spanish), and the portions were generous! Definitely a must if you're looking to experience real, authentic Colombian food!

The forerunners of Peruvian cuisine in Aruba, Betty and Isaac started this project in 1997 from their home where every resident Peruvian felt at home remembering Peru. Today we are in the heart of Aruba (Oranjestad) firm in transmitting and delighting wit
Our dinner at El Chalan was delightful! The menu offers authentic Peruvian cuisine including several choices of cerviche, asian fusion, and creole fusion Peruvian cuisine. The cerviche was fresh with a great presentation. The menu offers photos of most prepared entrees. Both our beef and chicken meals were delicious. Cecilia, our server, was more than accommodating in service. Prompt, friendly, and conscientious. The atmosphere was most comfortable. Transportation recommended.

The open air dining along with the delicious tapas dishes and wait staff makes this restaurant one of the best choices on the island. Guido and Kawhita was our wonderful tour guides through the menu that displayed the creative talents of the chef and kitchen staff. Some of the best gazpacho ever made. The baked artichokes were perfect. The stuffed mushrooms amazing. Please take a moment and try this wonderful restaurant and you will not be disappointed. Much gratitude to the staff for a lovely evening.

Newly located in the Renaissance Marketplace downtown, Cuba's Cookin' has moved with the times just as when Fidel began his march on Havana in 1959. This is what Havana would have looked & felt like.... and when the live music starts up nightly....this is
