In the heart of Loja, good food prepared faithful to the tradition of the city for you to enjoy with your family and friends.
This cozy cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating, the latter around a secluded garden. Staff are hospitable. Marco will show you how to really enjoy different types of Lojana coffee. I appreciated that and a pizza empanada: a nice break from touring the town. I'll make time to return. Recommended.Thank you, you are welcome.

My friend brought me here for a special birthday dinner. It's fine dining in Loja, with several courses, all of which were excellent. I would highly recommend for a special occassion.
Where to eat Fast Food food in Loja: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Despite being a reasonably sized city of some 200,000 inhabitants with a strong tradition in the arts and education, Loja is woefully lacking in good restaurants. As a weekly visitor (I live in a small mountain village, some 40 kilometers away) I have been consistently disappointed in an almost uniform lack of culinary skills in local kitchens that are typically manned by cooks rather than chefs.Mar Rojo (literally: Red Sea) is a welcome exception. The award winning, 20-page menu, interspersed with colorful images by the creative design firm of Deseño Flandoli, provides an impressive assortment of appetizers, soups, salads, pastas along with entrees ranging from chicken (served in nine creative dishes) and meats (steak, baby back ribs, gourmet burgers, etc.), shrimp, fish and ceviches (fresh, raw fish marinated in citrus juices spiced with garlic, herbs and peppers). The restaurant is looked over by the two Luises â a father and son team that make it their business to make you feel welcome and valued. A member of our party needed several recipe adjustments because of her diet requirements: no problem. My Pollo al Jerez (rolled chicken in a creamy Cadiz sherry and marjoram sauce) was exquisite. I was torn between that dish and the Chicken Cordon Bleu or the Camarones al Ajillo (garlic shrimp) â each only $7.90. Almost every one of the chefâs suggestions, including Chateaubriand, Hungarian Goulash, and Prawns in your choice of spicy, Tex-Mex, brandy, or Thai sauces are on my must-try list.If you can, leave room for desert â you can decide among a very tempting selection of decadent finales â all under $4.00.Bottom line: Excellent Value! A great dining experience with an unusually varied selection of dishes in a very comfortable, modern setting. The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 AM to 10:30 PM and Sundays from 10:30 AM (brunch) to 4:00 PM. It is located in a residential neighborhood, so there are far less people during lunch. Buen provecho! (Bon Appetit!) Please stop by and say hello. I expect to become a regular.Av.
