Only found out about this restaurant by accident, so decided to try it. I've been to the sister restaurant, Tasca Dali, so, despite some negative reviews, I thought I'd try it as it is run by the same management so it must have the same standard. Tasca Dali has just won the title of best Spanish restaurant in West Midlands, so it must be doing something right! The management and staff were so friendly, polite and informative that I do not understand the very low ratings. Yes there were a couple of hiccups, (one wrong drink due to a new waitress, and the starters taking a little longer than normal), but the quality of the food, (with apologies and no excuses for the mishaps), made up for any slight hiccups.Nothing was too much trouble. Even paella, (which they say on their website needs 24 hours notice), was available which we took advantage of.We had starters off the tapas menu, (bread with alioli, black pudding and calamari), with the oriental calamari the stand out dish. It sounds like an odd combination, but whoever thought of it is inspired as it takes calamari to a completely new level, and not so much oriental but a slight spicy kick. The chicken paella was so moist and tender, with just enough crunch without being burnt. The best outside of Spain. I'll definitely try the seafood paella next time.In summary, I do not know what the negative review expect, but I absolutely had a great evening with staff that could not be more polite and attentive.

As a group of 6 on a Saturday evening we were looking for something a little livelier, especially as itâs billed as a piano bar. However the music was quiet and relaxed and killed our mood a little. Drinks were reasonable, although I was quite amused that (although v.nice) the marshmallow literally just has a large mallow floating in it

Went for lunch and wasnât acknowledged upon entrance nor at our table until going up to the till to ask for someone to take our order. Waited an hour for our food and was ignored by the waitresses when trying to get their attention. Food was delicious but we wonât be returning after the poor service.
