"El Convento" is our restaurant in Hervás, built into an old convent rebuilt as a 4* hotel. You will be delighted with our creative cuisine, with the legacy and tradition of the best Spanish recipes.
Stayed at this hotel In November.Restaurant opened at 8pm,and we entered to find the place deserted with no server or sign that there was any kitchen activity.Waited 5 mins and went to reception to ask if there was service.Yes,she would get the waiter and 3 mins later he arrived in a bit of a rush. They were obviously not expecting any diners on a midweek November night.Gave our order.. Ist course arrived. Nothing special and didn't taste freshly cooked.2nd course arrived(pork ribs). It was hardly warm. We then realised that there was no kitchen staff and the lone waiter was heating precooked food in the microwave, and was pretty clueless as to what he was doing. Ok so to have a cook waiting for diners and maybe no one arrives maybe a waste but its no excuse to serve precooked badly microwaved food, which could have tasted well if freshly cooked..Better to close the restaurant. The waiter himself was fine,as was his service, but he should not be serving food of such poor quality.Would use the hotel again but not the restaurant.

Craft Beer and good food from our beermaster and chef

This area of Extremadura is famous for its pork "iberico" products, and the in-land Spanish are known for their love of meat. Since the pork legs are made into delicious hams, the rest of the animal has to be consumed somewhere!El 60 is a country inn, with only meat on its menu. The upstairs dining room is set with large tables for 10 -14 people. You can have beef (the t-bone "chuleton" is HUGE, for European standards anyway) or a thin steak (that was for the kids!), lamb cutlets (excellent), pork cutlet, and the famous "secreto" which is the meat inside the pork ribs (hello cholesterol!). All meat is served with homemade fries, so you should order a salad to go with it if you fancy vegetables of some sort...Not for vegetarians.

I went there for lunch on 07.04.09, and had Nardi's tasting menu, together with the restaurants very good 03 Ribera Del Duero. The restaurant is very good, and the food is presented very nicely - like the rest of Extremadura though, you need to be quite knowledgable about the Spanish language, because noone speaks any English. However at nardi that wasn't a problem - the food was exquitite - so the language barriers were broken down by a great tasting experience. The restaurant, located in a small picturesque village in Spain, isn't very nicely decorated, which is a shame, however their cooking makes it worth a visit. And a measely 36⬠for the lunch menu makes it even more astonishing.

We were looking for somewhere for a good lunch on a day when many other Hervas restaurants were closed. The dining room felt modern and comfortable. Two set menus were available and a varied A la Carte. We enjoyed the choices from the Menu of the Day - all given a little foodie twist to lift them above the mundane. Service was excellent and a popular choice with others. It seems to be called La Parrilla not Jose Raul Granada, however!

Restaurant in downtown Hervas, near the famous Jewish quarters, with kitchen and author Extremadura, Extremadura retinto meats grilled, homemade desserts all very elavorados, seasonal cuisine.Recommended by Michelin Guide for northern Extremadura
This is my experience of Spain. You are in the north and you get incredibly good value--a 3 course meal with wine and coffee for 15-20 euros. As you head south, the prices increase. Here in the hills, I had a 3 course meal and wine but the price rose to 50 euros. A salad for starter, jamon iberico with plum source on slices of apple for the main course, and a brownie for pudding. Fine, but far from exceptional, and billed by the owner who couldn't be bothered to exchange a word as he did the card stuff, and the restaurant was all but empty. So if I was you, i would go for the cheap places where they serve raciones.

We came across with this restaurant while walking in the Jewish neighborhood, we didnt know anything about it before, but menu seemed interesting. We were surprised of the quality!! We had black pudding and pine nuts croquettes, "Torta del Casar", "chuletón", puffed pastry ("milhojas") and brownie, all delicious and one of the best diner in my life. Restaurant is very warm and stuff very friendly with good recommendations for wine. Thanks for surprising us so positively and the wonderful diner.Attention: sunday evening is closed (we went back again but this time it was, unfortunately, closed)

Revised extremadurian cuisine: regional cuisine that priorizes the use of seasonal products, combining cutting-edge techniques with traditional flavors.
We really liked this little restaurant. The menu offers some traditonal dishes, but with a more modern touch. A plates we had chosen were tasty and they looked really nice. They gave the choice between two different kinds of bread with the meal. A very friendly service and a nice place to relax and enjoy a good meal.
