Creative Tapas Inspired by the flavours and produce of Spain and Lebanon
Had supper here on a summer Tuesday. It was well patronised but not full. We liked our table in the 'library', service was good. As the food was described as tapas we expected all our choices to arrive at the same time, however they came sequentially, which turned out to be a good thing as the portions of most of them were generous. Particular favourites were the blackened cod - melting flakes of fish encased in a light batter coloured with squid ink, lamb which came with tender green beans, and the toast with aubergine puree. Items on the menu change regularly, so worth a return visit when we next are in the area.

José Pizarro The Swan Inn is the fourth restaurant in José Pizarroâs repertoire. The Surrey pub in the town of Esher has a typical British pub feel, but in true José style serves delicious Spanish classics using the best Spanish ingredients alongside loca
We came, we stayed. Weâre regulars at Pizarroâs Bermondsey joints and were wondering what on earth he was thinking setting up out here. The photos on the website donât really do the place justice. The pub is really cute and the immediate surrounds are so verdant and tranquil, that itâs hard to believe you are so close to the smoke.A pub with tapas seems an odd concept, but as soon as the food started to arrive, it stopped being odd. A couple of British pub staples have been retained like fish and chips. Mercifully there is no sign of that that pub classic known as âthe vegetarian optionâ. Instead thereâs a lively mix of Spanish dishes that happen to be suitable. We shared the gordal olives, pan con tomate, tortilla de patata, mushroom croquetas (yum!!), a dish of carrots, blue cheese and seeds; a lovely stew of white beans and spinach, all served by friendly and enthusiastic staff who appear to like their jobs. The carnivores fell on the lamp chops like locusts. Between 4 of us, we levelled a bottle each of the JP own brand red and white as well as a bottle of a nice light dry rose, finishing up with a nice take on sticky toffee pudding (something I donât normally like, but I like this version), a zingy citrus posset and a cheeseboard, lubricated by a glass each of Jorge Ordonezâs lovely moscatel. I couldnât fault it. In common with the Bermondsey hostelries, the place is very convivial and the food supports rather than upstages this. Itâs simple, delicious, informal sharey good food that oils the wheels of the good conversation and merriment, which is everything that good pub food should be. Pizarroâs tortilla de patata and pan con tomate are strong contenders for my death row meal â not that Iâm planning to be a mass-murderer. Itâs hard to find tortilla this good outside of a Spanish home.Someone else picked up the tab and wouldnât tell me how much it was lest I insist on chipping in, but didnât look unhappy handing over their card, so Iâm guessing the bill was not a source of alarm. We rolled merrily into bed in one of the B&B rooms and slept like logs. Iâve posted this separately on the B&B site.

An independently family owned and ran traditional pub, for 33 years with a tapas based restaurant that also serves traditional lunches and a selection of main courses and bar meals to suit most tastes. We also have a patio flower garden to enjoy in the su
Make sure you book in advanced to avoid disappointment as this place is always busy! With both and outside area for the summer and an inside section for the colder months you can enjoy this amazing food at any time. The manchego cheese with red onion is my favourite. Amazing service, the girl serving us was so lovely and we found out it was her first day! Good job and great food!
