We are travelling from the UK in our motorhome and wanted to find a traditional restaurant. From the moment we walked through the door we felt welcome. The menu was explained to us in English which we appreciated. We chose the â¬12 menu of the day, three courses and a very palatable bottle of white wine. It was not only superb value but cooked and presented to a high standard and delicious. Thank you, I wish we lived here and could savour the menu on a regular basis. Thoroughly recommend.

Went with 6 friends. Good traditional food. The menu is really cheap although it is not their best food. I had steak ("txuleta") and, although it was really tasty it had no sauce, it came along with french fries and baked pepper. The best option is the cheesecake for dessert.

Had grave concerns about eating here after reading one of the one star reviews (of which there are three from 792)...âOur table was not crumbed until the very endâ! And they were right! But luckily, being forewarned, we knew not to make a mess.Otherwise, what an exceptional meal! We ate here towards the end of our honeymoon, and it was hands down the best of the âfine dinersâ we visited (Tickets, Disfrutar, Arzak, and Mugaritz being the other four). It had everything we look for in a high end restaurant: beautiful dining room, elegant whilst being warm and inviting, relaxed, but professional service, a very fair wine list, and the food! Wow! You must read about the head chef and his humble beginnings, and it is quite extraordinary what he has achieved. Thereâs a cutting edge to his menu, but itâs also familiar and comforting. Some of the best dishes weâve ever eaten. My wife considers the tomato, as part of a tuna belly dish, the best tomato sheâs ever eaten. Praise indeed!Itâs a pain in the arse to get to. We were staying in San Sebastián and explored various options (including bus/train) and it was only really doable by car. I wanted to hit the wines and, to be honest, a car hire wasnât much cheaper than a taxi so it was a taxi we chose and the whole transfer business cost â¬200 (â¬100 from SS to Extebarri, â¬75 to Bilbao (a friend had insisted we visit the Guggenheim), and â¬25 bus back to SS).So this restaurant is an absolute must! Provided youâre not a messy eater ;)

This is certainly one of the best restaurants that I have ever been. The environment, interior design, the house itself, service quality and meals are absolutely first class. We went to visit this restaurant all the way from San Sebastián (90 mins drive) but believe me it is worth it from every aspect and recommending it to everyone. There is no point to describe each recipe because all them are so tasteful. All you need to do is to go and try it. I hope you also get the opportunity to experience the owners sense of humor and local dresses of waitress's.
