Things to do in El Burgo de Osma

Arriving for lunch in El Burgo de Osma on a local holiday we asked some natives for restaurant recommendations for lunch. They warned us that most places would be quite full but gave us a few hints. We finally took our chances with Capitol, right on the Plaza Mayor and with outdoor sitting on the beautiful day we passed through. It also got quite crowded and we were warned that we might have to wait for food, but the very hard working and friendly staff actually mentioned to get our orders through in a quite reasonable time. The lunch menu is nothing really outstanding, but with clearly more variety than your standard local restaurant. We found everything we ordered to be good to very good, except maybe for the quite average cup of crianza red wine (can't remember which producer). The wine list would have some interesting choices if we would not have had to drive on after lunch. All in all, we'd quite happily return to this restaurant, the variety and good service lifting it to the "very good" rating.

Bar situado en la calle mayor del Burgo que dispone de una pequeña carta de tapas, raciones, ensaladas y pinchos. No destaca ni por su gran calidad ni por ser malo, un bar más. Para tomar algo y picar, sin más.

It´s not the first time we visit this restaurant, and it certainly won´t be the last time either, as Virrey Palafox is a sure value in this part of Spain. Their menu includes traditional and more modern cuisine, but we recommend especially the traditional fare, as we know better restaurants for the modern interpretation (like Casa Vallecas in Berlanga de Duero, where we couldn´t reserve this day, as they had a wedding going on). Take a look at the wonderful huge wine list.

Visited the restaurant tonight with family of 7. We had an amazing dinner. This is not Michelin fare but neither is the price. We shared starters including meats and cheese selections and croquetas and buey carpaccio. Beautifully presented and excellent quality. Grilled meats for main course and then cookies and ice cream, profiteroles with hot chocolate sauce and, for me, apple tart for dessert. All superbly prepared and much enjoyed by all. Service was very friendly and attentive and wines well chosen. Very highly recommended.

This is a very popular bar serving some of the best pork scratchings in town ('Torreznos' - a local speciality). Great for a pre-dinner drink.

Went to El Asador for my partnerâs birthday. The place is freshly renovated, in a modern but yet traditional way.The owner greeted and welcomed us with a sample of bread, local extra virgin olive oils and some Salamancaâs Iberian ham. All these entirely on the house. We then shared 2 starters, a salmon tartare which came with freshly chopped avocado and some revisited croquetas to die for.Main course was a 1.5 kilos of perfectly cooked Angus steak, which literally melted in our mouths. The steak came with juicy roasted potatoes. We then shared a chocolate and crumble dessert (served in a tiny flower pot - very original) which came with a lit candle. To further celebrate the birthday the owner offered us his revisited version of the Daiquiri cocktail, made with fresh strawberry pulp and gin.Cut a long story short... we left the place already booking a table for the night after***** 5-stars place in Burgo de Osma, not to be missed

Just finished eating here tonight. The dining room was quiet but the bar was full. Even my husband was there watching a soccer match. Nice, friendly local atmosphereI ordered sopa Castellana, a bread an garlic soup, which was delicious. Serving was big. Then I had grilled Merluza (hake). Lightly flavoured. Also very good.
