The city is largely situated on the east bank of the river IJssel, but also has a small part of its territory on the west bank. In 2005 the municipality of Bathmen (with a population of about 5,000 people) was merged with Deventer as part of a national effort to reduce bureaucracy in the country.

This is a very cosy, romantic place to go dining, with your lover, friends or family. The ambiance is great with vaulted ceilings, and in a lower level a large cellar with comfortable lounge corners. The tapas are tasty and creative, the service is okay, though we had to wait a bit long at primetime, nice wines. Friendly owner. Highly recommended.

The food was good but the portions are a bit on the small size even for tapas. Cocktails were good and not expensive and the service was fine. I did enjoy it though and everything was cooked well. Worth a visit

We werden heel leuk verwelkomd door de gastvrouw. Direct werd gezegd dat ze nog een feestje hadden voor iemand die 50 werd en of we een andere tafel wilden. Nou, nee, want wij houden wel van een feestjeâ¦. Naast dat we mee mochten genieten van een buikdanseres hebben we heerlijk gegeten. Alle Tapas gerechten waren voortreffelijk. Wat wij heel leuk vonden waren de klokken aan de muur die allemaal stil stonden. We konden alle tijd gebruiken om van de Tapas te genieten, samen met de nagerechten die bij de prijs inbegrepen waren. Tijdsdruk was er totaal niet en briefjes voor extra rondjes werd goed voor gezorgd. In dit modern en ruim opgezet restaurant komen wij (vanuit Groningen) zeker nog een keer terug. Het personeel kwam regelmatig vragen of wij geen last hadden van de feestvierders, heel attent, en juist in tegendeel, wij hebben reuze genoten. En de jarige kwam ons zelf nog een drankje aanbieden, helemaal TOP!
