The dishes were a little scarce, although the grill-cooked flavour was definitevely there. Was funny to hear the chef boasting about his hand-made food while eating McCain chips and having industrial ice cream for dessert.Paid 35,86⬠for two people, with daily menu. No credit card accepted, and with errors in the bill

A couple of times during our journey through the northeast of Spain we followed a sign up a small local road to a restaurant for some lunch. None excited us until we came upon Casa Javier. What a find! While the casa is an attractive stone building the actual entrance to the restaurant is only so so, but go inside and you will find a lovely small but intimate setting. Although our Spanish is minimal we were welcomed with the menu and a pleasant smile. We are so glad we decided to stay. While the casa is a nice stone building the entrance to the restaurant is only so, so, but upon entering you are in a very lovely small but intimate setting. We started with a most interesting salad - a warm goat cheese with truffle oil and rosemary, beautifully presented with homemade orange and carrot marmalade. It was so good we couldn't imagine how it could be surpassed. But surpassed it was by the best risotto we have ever had. The mushroom risotto with black trumpets was heavenly. The traditional Olla montaneso was very good as well - perhaps even excellent as we have not had any others to compare. All accompanied with a bottle of very nice regional red wine Although we did not plan on dessert we were encouraged to try the mushroom ice cream. While not so sure about 'mushroom' ice cream we decided to give it a try, and again are so glad we did. The chef took us out back to show us the hills from which the mushrooms are gathered. Somewhat surprisingly it was delicious, really delicious. It was only 20 euros for the salad, risotto, ice cream and wine, unbelievably inexpensive for the quality and quantity of food. The mountain pot, with wine - 10 euros. As well we purchased a bottle of the marmalade that was available for sale.As we were travelling a distance further we were unable to return for dinner, although had we been staying in the area we certainly would have done so.We can't say enough about the quality of food and service at Casa Javier. If you are anywhere nearby do yourself a favour and enjoy a meal here.

Good selection of dishes on the menu, food was great and the deserts were lovely, prices were very reasonable, for both the food and drinks. If back in the area we would definately go again
La mejor sangria casera que hemos probado!!! Y unas bravas espectaculares. Las personas que nos atendieron las dos veces que hemos estado muy atentas.

We stayed a couple of days in this village. The last meal was of unexpected quality. We sat outside with the family. Prices are higher than around but for a good reason. Taste was great as well as the service. More than helpful. Would recommend everybody visiting Castejón de Sos.

Almost all the menu is home reared and home grown. A steep drive up from Castejon de Sos but well worth the drive. Can be very busy so book ahead. Very fresh, simple, uncomplicated dishes served by highly informed staff who obviously enjoy their work giving great advice and attentive, but not fussy, service. We have been 4 times and would never visit the reason without eating here it has always been the best meal we have had at any point on any of our holidays.

While it serves local food we are not sure the ingredients are realy fresh cooked the moment you order. We found it cheap but also over-priced for the quality they serve. Waitress not realy motivated, the do their job and thats it. Regreatably it is the only restaurant in town.
