With a group of 16- often a challenge ! - we were greeted by the friendly wait staff and seated in the covered outside terrace overlooking the small working harbour and beach - 6 tapas dishes mainly fish followed by a mixed plate of delicious fresh grilled fish with bottles of the local Albariño . What bliss. And at 30 euros a head we all had plenty to eat and drink. Quality and freshness outstanding. A Guarda is not the trendiest of places and a tad run down but with food and service like this who cares! Stayed at the local converted convent hotel just 200 yards from the restaurant

We've came across this place by chance and wasn't it a great surprise? The tapas restaurant looks great, the employees are super attentive and kind and the food is very good and comfortable. A great place to spend some quality time.
The restaurant is perfectly located for a sunset meal. The staff are great. The food is good Portugese food (fresh fish, tapas starter). Wines are good.

A Guarda has a range of tapas restaurants that fringe the pretty harbour. It's potluck as to where you may end up eating as it always seems quite busy! So if it looks OK and a table is available we ended up at The Cetlic!Menus are all pretty similar if you are looking at Tapas; one waitress spoke English and all staff friendly and efficency. The tapas we decided to order were good, we enjoyed the stuffed seafood peppers. However the experience of eating Tapas still exceeds the actual food! We personally still do not get the Pulpa experience!! But it made for an enjoyable lunch, lovely views and great walks around the harbour. A Guarda is definitely worth a visit with its pretty pastel houses. Views of Mt Tecla behind.Note: You can also get to A Guarda by the wonderful Ferry that crosses between Caminha in Portugal to A Guarda every 30 minutes, by car or on foot. 4 euros car and 2 adults single. Brilliant!

Hidden away in a difficult to find location, it was still worth the effort. We had a huge selection of salads, meats, fish and all manner of gorgeous vegetables, including the traditional cook your own sausage as a starter. Four bottles of wine, desserts, coffee, and a tip - â¬170. I can't be more precise as to the whole range of dishes we had as the itemised bill can't be located. It was a gorgeous meal, in gorgeous surroundings, with unfailingly helpful staff. The interior layout of the building, allows for discrete tables as well as having plenty of room for the larger parties. One of the more memorable meals and a bargain, at the price.

Stopped by here after visiting the Celtic ruins at Santa Tecla. Excellent selection of local bottles of Albariño wines. Had the Galician octopus, grilled squid, monk fish, and sole. Very fresh and well prepared. Quite reasonable bill (about fifty euros total including the wine). Highly recommended.

Our Backroads hiking group stopped here for lunch as we were hiking the Camino. We had the pleasure of sitting on their open-air upper deck, so we had a view of the Atlantic Ocean. Lunch was served family-style; we had salad, fresh rustic bread, clams, mussels, seafood paella, chicken paella, and chocolate mint tart, and of course wine! Everything was superb!Buenos dÃas, encantados de que les hubiese gustado. Muchas gracias por la visita y por el comentario. Un saludo

Alborada Restaurant was opened in 1980 and it has belonged to the same family since then. Made at home typical Galician food. Our specialities are based on fish and seafood from Galician Coast: lobster with rice, scallops and shirmps with rice, mixed seaf
If you like super fresh seafood prepared well, so that you can appreciate the wonderful flavors, this is the place for you. Taperia-Restaurant heated, with a family atmosphere and long tradition in La Guardia (Founded in 1960). It has an extensive menu of tapas and homemade specialties, and an extensive wine list. We characterized our family deal with the client trying that he
This restaurant is located at the old town, in a small street on the tangle of small streets next to the port. The best place to eat in A Guarda according to many of the customer reviews, the restaurant is known for the good food and excellent wine cellar. There has been a restaurant here since 1960, when Hermelinda established his place. From the food available, we chose to start squid and prawns, both in simple but tasty sauces. As a main course we tasted seafood stew. without shining by the amount and size of the seafood (cockles, and prawns) was tasty. The Albariño recommended by the employee was soft, a bit sweet and easy to drink. Very friendly, professional and diligent staff. We will come back.
