A stylish beach town on France’s southwestern coast, Biarritz was once the vacation spot for nobility and is now Europe’s surfing capital. It’s experienced a tourist renaissance—summers are busy. Biarritz lacks the Riviera’s glitz, but you’ll see affluent vacationers in designer gear and surfers in flip-flops, and hear French, Spanish and Basque. The Grande Plage is the center of the action. Behind it, visit the restored, Art Deco casino and wander the streets down to the old port to the west.

Our surf instructors suggested this place. We wanted local and not fancy. This was the right place. Staff was accommodating, especially since none of us spoke French. They helped with the menu translation, pushed us to order the nightly special, which was fresh turbot, and seemed to really enjoy our group. The mussels were fantastic. Small, fresh and full of flavor. The pork dinner was also delicious. And I'm told the baked potatoes were tender and soaked perfectly in butter!

Whilst it is in the tourist area of les Halles (the covered market) of Biarritz, this restaurant specializes in fish and shell fish and is unique for the area in that sense. The service was fine though a little slow at times and the food on delivery was good. It is difficult to pre-prepare fish dishes (although I have sadly experienced it) so it was clear that it had been prepared tour order. My Tuna steak was browned on the outside and red/pink on the inside which was perfect for my taste. My wife's Gambas (Giant Prawns) were also delicious.I found the interior of the restaurant a little bright for my liking but there is also an external area that is less harshen the eyes.We wanted to go back but it was unfortunately closed (Wednesday) so we could not.Would I recommend it? Yes, fish lovers will enjoy the food served up here. The price to quality ratio was good for me.BTW, I also saw the entrecôte being served and it too looked very good so meat eaters would enjoy a visit as well.

We came here three times whilst on holiday in Biarritz, preferring it to some of the flashier (and pricier) central restaurants. The food was excellent, well cooked and nicely served, and very large portions, which kept my teenage son happy! Staff were really friendly, and the location, on a quiet back road away from the crowds, meant that although it was full it never seemed frantic. Would definitely recommend.

This place had good reviews, we were nearby and were on the mood for tapas so we decided to give it a shot. Well, the whole dining experience was a disappointment. The staff both in terms of waiters and in the kitchen seem to be a bunch of amateurs who shouldnât be in the restaurant business. First we were seated and not given menus so we got a couple from a neighboring table. While placing our order, the waitress literally interrupted us not once, not twice, not three times but four times to engage with another customer! They also offer pre-made tapas on the counter. There are no signs that explain what they are and the guy behind the counter didnât want to be bothered. I have been to Spain many times and sampled a wide range of tapas I can tell you that the tapas at Crampotte donât come anywhere close to the real thing. At some point during the dinner we noticed the staff gathered near the door, smoking and watching videos on their phones and laughing. Total bunch of amateurs. Maybe this place does good business in a highly touristy town but I cant recommend under any circumstances.

It was my first ever visit in this picturesque town and the owner of nearby hotel, Au Bon Coin, recommended me this restaurant. I was however warned that due to many Spanish tourists that particular weekend, I would maybe not be able to get a table. However, it succeeded my to get a reservation after some minutes of conversation with the boss.Tasty food, quick service and a very good glass of wine to go with the meal, Los Dos Hermanos 2015 (Rioja, Baron de Ley).Recommended.Merci pour votre avis ; nous somme ravis que vous ayez passé un agréable moment !!! Au plaisir de vous voir

We walked by this restaurant when coming home to the nearby hotel and had a late night drink. When we saw the interior and the dishes served we wanted to come back next night which we did. The food was delicious and there is a great selection of local dishes freshly cooked to order. Service is attentive and friendly. We had to Cote-de-Boeuf as a main course and liked it a lot.

At the centre of the seaside resort between place Clémenceau and the Casino, El Callejon is a Andalusian haven. The warm friendly atmosphere is enhanced by the musical entertainment. The cuisine is subtle and inspired, offering unusual generous dishes of
We ate here when spending one night in Biarritz. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and we were greeted by a very attentive host. The food was good - but not outstanding. We had 2 x three courses and a bottle of wine for â¬100, which was a little pricey, but we were happy overall.

We came back three times. Not expensive in Biarritz terms. We had the prawns in garlic, grilled steak, octopus, fresh tuna - all griddled. They have a large selections of mantaditos on display for smaller snacks. A huge selection of wines. Atmosphere is nice and is usually buzzing.

Restaurant chaleureux tenu par deux jeunes du pays basque ou les produits locaux sont cuisinés de façon originale et instinctive!! Un seul mot d'ordre "etxean bezala" ( comme a la maison)
Food was incredible, starters were so good we ordered 6 of them being only 3 adults, main courses were excellent too. Staff was adorable, having a baby with us they found a table we could use with the stroller nearby. Wine was perfect too.I really canât understand how people complain about this place, they did their best, knew their menu and advised greatly for wine! Weâre coming back!
