We were here on September 4th. It was my birthday. We ordered a Russian salad, entrecot and scallops. Unfortunately the waiter spoke poor English, menu was in Spanish and it turned out that everything I ordered was at least for 4 people. My friend and I , we could eat only one-third of everything. It was very unfortunate , that the waiter did not warn us about the sizes of portions. I have to say , that the food was delicious. But the smell, when we enter to the restaurant was a little shocking. The smell of cider. There is a funny tradition to pour cider into glasses. So, my advice in this restaurant: ask you waiter of sizes of portion and you don't have to pay for food you can't eat.

Few minutes walk from the Centro Niemeyer/dock area La Darsena has a relaxed bar area and small restaurant serving quality typical Spanish/Asturian food and wine. It was all served beautifully and very tasty. Good price, especially for the menu del dia.

Small and friendly. Not a tourist haunt (though it's close to the areas they visit), and all the better for it. Good food at a good price. Highly recommended. Dear guest:It's an honor for us to recieve our first Tripadvisor comment in English and to note that it's so positive. As you could see we don't speak that language and although we try to mitigate this matter with our best spirit and effort, it isn't easy to serve foreign visitors properly (thank you very much for your understanding).Anayway, when you have a polite and friendly client as you, everything is always easier.Thank you again for your words. We hope to see you again at our home: you can be sure that it would be a great pleasure.Best regards.

Cocina variada, moderna y tradicional, cerca plaza Carballo en centro histórico de Aviles. Siempre animado, con la cocina a la vista del comedor y una terraza posterior descubierta.
This bar/restaurant is in an area of several others in a charming old part of Aviles. At 1st sight it looks classier than it's neighbours, with its modern tasteful decor. That helps create a relaxed comfortable ambience but is not the real reason to visit. That reason is the food! I had probably the best Chiperones in years and an imaginative and beautifully presented cheese board. The wine was excellent, and the service friendly helpful and efficient. It's probably a little more expensive, but not lots more expensive. It's on my list to revisit.

If you're looking for a wonderful home cooked Asturian meal, look no further !!! A wonderful home cooked meal with locally grown ingredients. Great service from a local family in a home town atmosphere. Get off the A8 highway and enjoy this place. A must stop on the way up the north coast.

Pasaje Roma is a family business founded on January 2015 and specialized in tapas and plates. We want you to feel welcomed with a good atention, home-made food and popular prices.
Initially was a bit unsure as it looked like a cafe with not much atmosphere, but I was wrong. The young man was so hospitable and very patient with our dreadful Spanish and hesitant ordering. The food was freshly cooked and delicious . Plenty of it and as usual we ordered far too much. A fabulous find and well worth a visit. Dear reigatebec:Thank you so much for your opinion and it was a pleasure for us to make you feel comfortable at our bar.We take up your words about yours first feelings at the entrance and we are gonna make some actions at the establishment to look more like a cafe/bar with freshly cooked food.We hope everything is going well.Best regards from our family.

The best wine bar in Avilés. Gerardo (the owner/bartender) is an expert oenologist who also makes the best mixed drinks in town. His gin-and-tonic is spectacular.Gerardo's wife, Paloma, originally from Logroño, is a fantastic chef with a Midas touch. Her "menestra de verduras" is beyond compare. And the location in Sabugo, the old fishermen's querters of Aviles, doesn't hurt, either. If you have been good, reward yourself with a visit. And if you have been bad and go to El Pañol, all your sins will be forgiven.
