Very reasonable food, very reasonable prices. It's not fine dining, but it's not trying to be.With large portions it's popular with Spanish family groups, sharing their dishes, and it's usually packed at the weekends. It's very family orientated, both being run by family, and also having facilities such as a trampoline, play area, and at the weekends a bouncy castle.Dishes range from 4⬠to around 14⬠and a very drinkable bottle of wine is 8â¬.The offer all the usual cuts of meat and fish grilled, plus they also do home made pizzas, a couple of pasta dishes and salads.

We dropped by this bar on the way back from a family outing with the intention of having a drink and possibly some food, but decided against the food option as we were horrified by the state of the place. It was absolutely filthy, with two wait staff clearly struggling to serve everyone and clear the tables which were stacked with empty plates, glasses and food remains. As such, flies were everywhere which was unacceptable.BE AWARE! This place has a semi-enclosed area where smoking is permitted/tolerated. Either way, this area acts like it is enclosed and there is very little airflow and it feels like you are in a Spanish bar before the smoking ban. We were here with our four month old baby, and needless to say it put us right off. Owners, please consider making this area non-smoking.As is becoming quite common in some Spanish establishments, the owners are clearly trying to save money by employing minimal staff who struggle to cope during busy periods. If this place was cleared up a bit it could be absolutely stunning, but until then it just looks like a scruffy bar in need of a shakeup.

A lovely restaurant, situated next to a pretty square. They have tables in the shade outside, plus informal benches and stools in the bar area, plus a more formal dining room with funky décor. We've been a few times and find the food is consistently good. It has lots of local specialities such as pork fillet, croquetas, flamenquin, steak, Argentinian beef etc, but also offers some international dishes eg spring rolls, burritos, risotto, lasagne. They often have specials, and sometimes do a themed night of tapas or pizzas (I've yet to make it to pizza night, but a friend told me it was the best pizza they've ever had)The staff are lovely and very welcoming, and the menu's are available in English. The whole place has a modern vibe, it's stylish without being stuffy, and it seems popular with all generations of locals.
Disponemos de una gran extensa comida casera y carnes y pescados a la brasa, ven y descúbrenos, tenemos un amplio salón de comidas y una gran terraza junto a un parque ideal les niños
We had a lovely evening. With a mix of tapas food. From cheese to mussles, anchovies and shrimps. The staff eventhough they didnât speak English were very welcoming, kind and understandable. One thing to take into account is that the restaurant isnât where it says it is on google maps. Itâs next to Plaza Medina Azahara.

This is really really affordable local restaurant. If you order tapa(small dish), you will spend less than 10 euro including drinks.Unlike restaurants in big cities, the bread is free and they serve free tapa too.And they were delicious.Since this is a local restaurant for local people, you may wait a long time until you get what you ordered.

One of a few restaurants in Almodovar that has menu's in Spanish and English, which if your Spanish speaking is as basic as mine is very handy! The menu is interesting with some dishes that you can't get anywhere else in the town. We shared a starter of pieces of rye bread topped with goats cheese, pork and caramelised onions which was presented brilliantly and really tasty. We then shared chicken (I think) burritos which were, again, presented well with chips on the side drizzled with a tasty, slightly spicy sauce. The waiting staff were great, and really looked after us, especially when it started pouring with rain and we were the only idiots still trying to sit outside (in April) they came and moved us inside. They obviously get very busy, so I would advise getting there early to get a table. There were other things on the menu that sounded really good so we'll definitely be back to try it again :)

It was a stupid weekend: Due to Carnival-activities (one week later than in the rest of the World) most places were closed. But the Bar Izquierdo were one of the few exceptions where we could find in the city center which was open after 20:00 hrs. We bought the first night some sandwiches. Nothing specials: just a piece of bread and some slices of Iberian Ham inside. We went the next morning (Monday Morning - most places were still sleeping) but again it was Barr Izquierdo which was open. No sandwiches were offered but slices of toasted bread, some Tomate Sauce made of diced tomates and some olive oil to top the bread. The coffee was for my friends (both are coffee lovers) too strong and burnt their stomaches away. At least they were open and saved our lifes. Twice.

The most outstanding view of the Castillo Almodovar aka Game of Thrones castle. Huge portions - see photo! Tasty and well cooked and ice cold beer on draught - Cruzcampo. Don't eat the bread rolls if you want to do justice to the food!

La Viuda, is a tradicional meeting point in Almodovar del Rio, today it's renovated and has a contemporary character, nevertheless still retain that traditional feel that characterizes us. Our menu has the same resemblance, it's a selection of traditional
If you are traveling from Córdoba to Sevilla, there is a small treasure in between, a little town called Almodóvar Del RÃo, not only the commute in itself its great a nice scenic route, but also the main attraction over there is worthwhile the detour. The Castle on the Hill, is without a doubt a must visit, it is a castle every Disney princesses has wish for in every dream. However, I want to let you know, if your hungry, about a small dinner called Taberna La Viuda, it is absolutely great in every way. I have been looking for this kind of place over the past two weeks in Spain. Service is friendly and personally attended by its owner Richa (Ricardo). The menu offers a gastronomic journey of AndalucÃa, they even have a allergy and intolerance guide. Very rich authentic flavors unbelievable salpicón de maricos, salmorejo, rabo de toro and award winning ribs. Totally recommended you will enjoy it a lot!! As I did. Definitely two thumbs up thank you so much for the experience and service. Ahhh and the price totally reasonable!!!
