El Herradero is OPEN!!! Right across from the VFW on Main St is El Herradero where the coffee is very good and the food is so comforting. Huevos con Chorizo is a sizable portion of scrambled eggs with ample pork chorizo prepared properly dry keeping the eggs fluffy with excellent hash browns. The Denver Omelet is big filled with plenty of ham, a side of hash browns, and toast or tortillas. The side of Chili Rellanos smothered in green chili was sublime. We lingered over several cups of coffee taking in the amazing murals on all the walls. These folks care about their food.

If you can ignore the presentation of the meal (very messy running together) the food is pretty good - although not very spicy for Mexican. Tucumcari does not offer many options though and this one can work. Think basic decor and basic food and you will not be disappointed.

New Mexican and American food, Beer and Wine! OPEN From 5 til 9 pm. Enchiladas, Fajitas, Flame grilled All American Burgers! This is a quaint restaurant located inside the Quality Inn Tucumcari.
We were staying at the hotel and enjoyed the convenience of this restaurant. The server works very hard to provide great service. They appear to have limited staff but everything goes smoothly. The food is good and arrives in a reasonable time. We will eat here on our return trip.
