Reviews on Southwestern food in Roswell, New Mexico, United States. Known mostly through myths about aliens and UFOs, there's more to Roswell than mystery and innuendo. No matter what your interests: archaeological and historical sites, special and sporting events, museums, arts and culture, Roswell is a great place for a weekend jaunt. More than anything, the area offers a multitude of outdoor activities, from bird watching and fishing at the Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge to swimming and boating at Bottomless Lakes State Park. Families will love the Spring River Park and Zoo, which features a special fishing lake for children, exotic animals and an antique carousel. There's plenty to do inside as well. The Roswell Museum and Art Center will appeal to anyone with an interest in Southwestern painters like Peter Hurd and Henriette Wyeth. History enthusiasts will enjoy the Historical Center of Southeast New Mexico, a grand house filled with area antiques, artifacts and a changing gallery of historical exhibits. Of course a visit to Roswell would not be complete without a stop at the International UFO Museum and Research Center, where you can find out what really happened when "something" crashed near Roswell in 1947 or maybe not.

Did not check reviews because itâs Chiliâs , right?Gal at the door was out of her league. People backing up and tables unbussed while she washed the doors. She was rude to another group who left. Waited 15 minutes for a table ( remember those unbussed tables) and our waiter was great. I ordered wings and they were supposed to come with celery and a dipping sauce. They did not. When I asked, the waiter brought me some, the celery was rotten. When I asked him if he would eat it, he declined to answer and offered no apology. We were tired after a long day on the road, will rethink going to any Chiliâs after this experience. We're really sorry that we let you down in so many ways on that visit. That's not right. We really dropped the ball, and your feedback is helping us to improve at this location, so thank you. Please call us at 1-800-983-4637 and we'll make it right. Thanks!

Went for dinner during the Roswell Film and Music Festival. The food was awful. Between the 4 of us... nothing was hot or good . We all had some barbecue items.. sausage- cold; pulled pork -ok; Ribs- cold and tough; Brisket - ice cold and awful. Potatoes cold, onion rings cold; all of the meats had a fake smoke taste... almost like lighter fluid. The bar only serves beer and wine . The waitresses were extremely friendly and were working hard... actually running to serve us. The music was good. My advice would be to avoid this place unless you just want a beer.
I visited this little cafe on the recommendation of a business partner and was pleasantly surprised. Although the appearance both indoors and out is unassuming, to put it mildly, the food was good, service friendly, and prices very reasonable. Itâs a diner with a few stools at a counter and several tables. Almost all were full at 11 am on a midweek morning. I had huevos rancheros with red chile and potatoes on the side. All good and served with a smile. This is a very casual place but worth a visit if youâre in the area.

This is a great little place that's obviously a favorite of the locals, with friendly and fast service. The food is more authentically Mexican than what we get in the Midwest. We picked it because it is a short walk from the Roswell Art & History Museum and it turned out to be a very good choice.

We've been PoPo's fans for the past thirty years. The menu is yummy...food is inexpensive. The PoPo's family is supportive of our community, helping wherever they can. They cater - when my dad died, PoPo's brought the best red and green enchiladas. We have our favorites...the #1, #2, the relleno plate (awesome rellenos). We enjoy the sopapillas hot and freshly made. Salsa? You betcha! I like to take some home when I can. You won't find food this good for these prices anywhere. Good people, great food.

Peppers Grill & Bar, known to the locals as "Peppers," has been operating for nearly 30 years. We have built a solid reputation on our outstanding guest service standards, our fresh handmade food, and our friendly atmosphere.
This was our second visit in about a month. The first one was a combo of semi pleasant to semi disastrous .This time it was just plain sad. We walked in just before the dinner hour and were seated immediately, There were menus on the table so we began looking them over. Every so often I looked around to see if someone was going to acknowledge our presence and possibly take a drink order or offer some water. After 10 minutes or so we left the table and notified the hostesses that we could be ignored at a better place than this, told them what table we had been hidden at and left. We've eaten here before and I believe left a review. Never again.Draw your own conclusions.Thank you for taking the time to alert us of your recent experience at Peppers. What you described in regards to the service received does not match our standards what so ever. For that, we sincerely apologize. Your comments will be passed along to all wait staff to ensure improvement. Thanks again for leaving us this feedback. We hope to get another chance to impress you in the future.

On the way to Colorado from Texas we stopped in Roswell for the evening. Wanting something walking distance from our hotel, Los Cerritos popped up and seemed to have good reviews. Totally overrated. Combination platter with chicken enchiladas and a Chile relleno and green sauce was unremarkable with little or no flavor. My wifeâs stuffed sopapillo with shredded beef had a very off putting taste and my sonâs cheese enchiladas were likewise a disappointment. Advice to Texans passing through, donât waste your time looking for Mexican food in Roswell if this is one of their best.
