This is a great little cafe and bar! The wait staff is attentive, live music is fun and inclusive, and the food/drinks were awesome! The steak and Chicken Fried Steak were delicious! Their Hatch Queso and chips were gone quick! I also enjoyed their Fried Green Tomatoes! Don't skip this little treat! Visit The Horny Toad Cafe!

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Denton and we always go here when we're in town visiting relatives 2-3 times a year. A nice touch is that really good queso is served along with your complimentary chips and spicy salsa.I ordered the special Carne Asada meal. I don't like cilantro and noticed that it was in the cheese enchilada, so I asked that it be left off the enchilada. The steak came fine and was good, and the enchilada as I ordered it, but the waitress took it upon herself to also leave off the guacamole (which she said had cilantro) and also left off the beans for no apparent reason. I had to ask for the beans and she gave me sliced avocado instead of guacamole, so I kind of made my own guacamole! Unfortunately, the avocado slices had 2 large black spots on them--yuk!My mother-in-law liked her Chile Relleno and my husband ordered the shrimp kabob/enchilada dish which was good.My main concern is with the service--servers need to be willing to apologize graciously when things go wrong with an order. Instead, I received arrogant, somewhat defensive service.

Stopped by for dinner, and we both ordered drinks to enjoy with the salsa and chips. Thank you for the happy hour prices on the drinks, (and they were good). I ordered the chili relleno and I could see the chili (stuffed with amazing cheese and topped with a cheese sauce), but it didnât have a strong chili taste and there was no heat. My companion had a burrito with rice, beans and marinated pork which came with a good queso to put on top. But he also said there was no heat, it was actually a rare experience of eating Mexican food that wasnât spicy. Weâre from AZ and we usually have milder than New Mexico, but the food here had no spicy heat. There was a box on the menu showcasing âTex-mexâ offerings, maybe they were spicy but it sounded like all those platters had way too much food for us to eat. It was tasty, and our server was excellent, very attentive and helpful. My rice and beans were both good as well. It is located conveniently near shopping and a long row of restaurants and gas stations if you are traveling, very convenient and clean area.

Every day at 8 a.m., we start chopping veggies, soaking beans, and prepping our mesquite-fired grill. Not because we have to, but because we believe in delicious flavors made-to-order, from hand-rolled enchiladas to our sizzling fajitas to guacamole made
Weâve never been real fans of OTB, but friends suggested we go here. We were impressed. Service was fast, the chips and salsa better than I remembered, and the lunch special was excellent. And enough to take home for another meal. So we will go back again.

This has become our âgo to â restaurant for Mexican food. Really enjoy the enchiladas, fish tacos, guacamole. Cold beer. Attentive staff. Owner is usually present. Casual atmosphere. Can get busy but, tables turn quickly. Clean restrooms. Plenty of parking. Beats the heck out of the chain restaurants.

This restaurant chain was founded in Austin and its fame has resulted in additional restaurants around the state. This latest addition lives up to that tradition. The food is definitely considered Tex-Mex, meaning it is a little spicier, and the extensive menu offers all the traditional fare you would expect. We have enjoyed the food on every visit. Service has always been attentive, with quick ordering and not a long wait for food. The atmosphere is fun, with a noise level that allows for quiet conversation at your table.

Fast service, never had anything but wonderful service and I have been at least a 200 times. Good reasonably priced food...hot and well presented. Glad they took the smoking section out. Best waiters/waitresses in the world.......kudos to whomever is responsible for that.
