In 1885, Colonel Jacob Taylor purchased 338 acres (1.37 km) from Enoch Talbert, with visions of building a seaside resort for the rich and famous. The United States Navy operated a Naval Auxiliary Air Facility for blimps at Del Mar during World War II. The population was estimated at 4,311 in 2014, up from 4,161 at the 2010 census.

Interesting semi-open air restaurant. Probably should not have visited on a rainy day since it is not entirely enclosed, but overhead heaters helped. Would be great in the summer, though. Food was good, but nothing really special. My friend had the chicken tortilla soup which she said was very good. I had a carne asana burrito which was fine - did not come with any sides, which I would normally expect. Perhaps we just didn't order a house specialty but didn't feel the food was worth making a special trip for, especially because the parking can be a problem.

I joined a couple colleagues at Fidelâs for dinner. It is a large multilevel restaurant with traditional Mexican fare. I was disappointed that they didnât have any mole dishes, so I ordered the Carnitas instead. They were very good and served with flour (or corn) tortillas, chips and pinto beans. I also had the std margarita served in a short glass tumbler. The margarita was acceptable but not exceptional. Prices are high average. I recommend Fidelâs although I will try other places before returning, with so many Mexican options around.

Me and my husband went here for a lunch ..The staff was very friendly even though it was busy day they made sure that we get our order on time..I loved how they served the fajitas in the hot iron plate! good food ...must go place if you love Mexican food

Hard to beat this place for ambiance, friendly people, food and views. WE had a Flamed Chile Rellanno stuffed with cheese and all the fixins. Plus some Cadillac Margaritas. The bartendar's Matt and Jason are incredible and make the place what it is. Fantastic!!
