Reviews on Southwestern food in Corrales, New Mexico, United States. Corrales is a village in Sandoval County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 8,329 at the 2010 Census. With proximity to the Rio Grande, the village was founded for agricultural purposes. The Rio Grande Bosque on the eastern edge of the village provides refuge for native animals and plants. The village fights hard to maintain its rural character in light of being surrounded by the rapidly expanding cities of Rio Rancho and Albuquerque.

Had breakfast at Weckâs on Holly. Weckâs is an Albuquerque institution with about 17 locations in the area. On this morning I had the carnitas burrito and hash browns with a side of bacon. The portions are huge; I could not eat it all. The carnitas were very good but bland. The green chile was mild. Overall I thought it lacked something and I wished they had not smothered the hash browns in chile; they would have been better without it. Portions were huge but the flavor was not. An OK, but not great, breakfast. Service was prompt, the interior is spacious and, on this occasion, not very crowded. Ample parking in the strip mall lot.Thank you for leaving your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you thought your meal tasted bland. I will pass your review on to our Operations Team to address this with our kitchen. We hope you'll come back and try us out again. -Weck's Restaurants

This was a really huge restaurant. We were there when they opened at 10:30 for breakfast after going to the Balloon Fiesta. We shared guacamole and breakfast sopaipilla sliders. we had one bacon and two sausage sliders. Then they brought 2 sopaipillas for dessert with honey. I've never had something like this for breakfast, but it was wonderful. The sopaipllla were the best I've ever had. All of that food was only $15.

Very good spot for breakfast and lunch--open seven days per week
We stop by on a recommendation from a local Ford Dealer and they staff was super glad to see us and sat us pretty quick. We had great service and prompt. The manager said their chicken fried steak was the best west of the Mississippi! Well I havenât tried every CFS eat of the Mississippi but this particular was huge and delicious!!! Great place to have a meal!

First I should say I expect a lot of a restaurant that lists themselves as a southwestern restaurant. I really appreciated the good service. Itâs a nice restaurant with pleasant atmosphere but pretty average Mexican food. Beans are nothing special and pretty bland. Nothing that âwowedâ my taste buds. Maybe this is what locals are content with but Iâll look for something better next time weâre in town. Not happy that the couple of southwestern restaurants that Iâve enjoyed coming to in town have gone downhill over the last five years.

This place has great Mexican food at very reasonable prices. I usually order the fajita salad. Their sopapillas are the best.

Perea's Tijuana Bar is a landmark in the village of Corrales. John Perea, fourth generation Correlano offers a throwback to an authentic time in the village with good drinks (full bar) and an "abuela" in the kitchen who prepares excellent dishes. The building itself is worth visiting with an interesting view into the "walls". An outdoor patio is right on Corrales Rd and interesting shops are within walking distance. Call ahead for hours since the restaurant is only open sporadically.

If your looking for a great place to eat you should stop by. Thank you for the awesome review. We appreciate you choosing to stop in to eat with us at Weck's and hope to see you again soon. -Weck's Restaurants

The first time here was odd; bad service and very good food. Then it got worse every time we went. The service continued to be slow and confused. Items on the menu were served different than described. Wrong drinks delivered and no explanation other than "That's the way we serve it now, it changed a while ago" and "I didn't know we had that beer!" It's hard to even want to go again wondering what the next mistake will be. Maybe the food will be good, maybe it won't, but the service is bad and strangely not justified. Better places in the nearby area that you can count on for consistent food and service!! Stay away from this place.

Nestled in the cottonwoods, El Pinto was founded with eight tables in 1962. Twin brothers John and Jim Thomas, known as the Salsa Twins, carry on the family tradition and have expanded El Pinto into the quintessential "Spot" for healthy and fresh New Mexi
I find it hard to believe that our experience was so different from so many others. Although the exterior was nice, once inside the place looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The low lighting couldn't hide the exposed wires running throughout the "enclosed patio" room we ate in. Even with two wood stoves burning the room was cavernous and empty-feeling. The cat walking through the room added nothing to the ambience. Nor did the trip to the ladies room, which was wet and dirty. On my way back to the cavern I took a look at the outdoor patio which someone else described as nice. It wasn't - didn't have lighting or heat lamps. So let's move on to the fact that something (an oven?) broke down in the kitchen after we ordered, causing our food to arrive an hour and 10 minutes after ordering. Our server was quite apologetic and did her best to keep the waiting patrons placated, but when we asked if the manager might offer a free drink in exchange for the wait the answer came back no. What school of customer service did this guy go to? The only thing that keeps me from rating El Pinto as awful is that the food was good. I did like my chicken enchiladas. But not enough to make up for everything else.I would like to apologize for your recent experience at El Pinto Restaurant and Cantina. We pride ourselves on offering the highest standards of hospitality and professionalism, and are therefore disheartened to hear about this unfortunate experience. We have spoken to the kitchen and shared your feedback and are working continually to fine-tune our service levels to not only meet but exceed our guest expectations. We are also addressing your concerns about the feel and look of the restaurant. When ever you are in the area again We would love to offer you an exceptional experience.Once again, please accept my sincerest apologies.

Kind of a small place. Parking a little difficult when busy. Overall - everyone enjoyed their food. I had the huevo ranchos with carne adovada. Really good and hash browns were nice and crispy. Carne was good but a little skimpy on the portion size of meat. Overall plate size was good.Again good but not high of list of an immediate revisit.
