Escalantes used to be good, not anymore. Three out of six of us had to send our food back because ithe meat was so over cooked it was inedible. But the worst part where the 5+ roaches crawling around on the ledge behind us. When we pointed it out to the manager, he said yeah that happens. Seriously???

The food here is delicious but itâs a little pricey. However I enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service. If Iâm ever in Houston again, I will definitely go back.

Los Tios Mexican Restaurant has been serving Houston authentic Tex-Mex for over four decades. Through those years, devoted diners have made Los Tios a family tradition handed down over generations. Favorite tables, favorite waiters and, most importantly,
There are plenty of Tex-Mex restaurants in Houston. The quality of the food and atmosphere vary greatly as one might expect in a city of 6 million people. Los Tios Mexican Restaurant falls in the middle of the pack. It is neither outstanding or bad. Staff courteous but professional (not warm). If I had the opportunity to go back I would but not drive out of my way to do so.

Went on a recommendation from one in our group who had prior experience. Chips and salsa were above average. We all ordered maragritas after being told by our waitress that we could still get in on happy hour prices. Margs were average and not enough tequilla. We decided on the beef and chicken family size fajitas for four big boys but all the chips and appetizers slowed us down. They are correct on the menu, it feeds 4-6 but no more than that. I like that they asked how be wanted the beef cooked. The price wasn't a screaming deal considering I get beff fajitas for one back home for 12-15 dollars a person. Like I said, I wasn't blown away but you have to do miracles for this reviewer from Mexican country. I'd still encourage you to try it to see how you judge it. Go and enjoy!

I really enjoyed my time here. The place is beautiful. The service outstanding. The grilled tilapia my wife had was huge. I had an enchilada and tamale I had were very good. Way too much food for us. Prepare to take some home. We ate at 3 different Mexican restaurant on our visit here and this was the best. All 3 were good actually' Can't wait to go back!

Sophisticated Casual
This charming little restaurant serves a very good breakfast. The waitstaff is quite friendly. My only complaint is getting the attention of the server after the food has been delivered. While staying at the Westin Oaks, I had breakfast here daily. Same issue during each visit. But, I would go back for the tasty food.
