Hula hut Little Elm Provides Mexican Food With a Surfer Twist to the Little Elm TX Area.
We have been to the Hula Hut 3 different times and had 3 different servers. Each server had a great friendly attitude and went out of their way to be accommodating. There was no problem with any special request. I have eaten the shrimp tacos twice and they were great. Just had a burger and it was big and juicy. There was no problem getting it cooked the way you want it. When the server brought my wife's he ask her to check it to make sure it was cooked the way she wanted just like they do in a fancy steakhouse. Our grand kids have been with us each time and they are very accommodating for kids as well. I would recommend this place if you are looking for good atmosphere and casual food. Also the bar drinks are good.RobS3627,We thank you for taking the time to leave us such great feedback, and are excited to hear how much you're three experiences have been successful. As a restaurant that prides on serving all patrons - big and small - we're delighted to hear you and your wife, as well as the grandkids, have all enjoyed your times with us. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future!

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Denton and we always go here when we're in town visiting relatives 2-3 times a year. A nice touch is that really good queso is served along with your complimentary chips and spicy salsa.I ordered the special Carne Asada meal. I don't like cilantro and noticed that it was in the cheese enchilada, so I asked that it be left off the enchilada. The steak came fine and was good, and the enchilada as I ordered it, but the waitress took it upon herself to also leave off the guacamole (which she said had cilantro) and also left off the beans for no apparent reason. I had to ask for the beans and she gave me sliced avocado instead of guacamole, so I kind of made my own guacamole! Unfortunately, the avocado slices had 2 large black spots on them--yuk!My mother-in-law liked her Chile Relleno and my husband ordered the shrimp kabob/enchilada dish which was good.My main concern is with the service--servers need to be willing to apologize graciously when things go wrong with an order. Instead, I received arrogant, somewhat defensive service.

Fast service, never had anything but wonderful service and I have been at least a 200 times. Good reasonably priced food...hot and well presented. Glad they took the smoking section out. Best waiters/waitresses in the world.......kudos to whomever is responsible for that.

When the restaurant was in its original location it was good. Since it moves in front of providence village the quality has dropped a lot and the service is not great. Good location but needs to go back to what made it good.

Food was okay, staff was very attentive and friendly. The brisket tacos were yummy! Wasn't real impressed with the ranchero sauce on my juevos rancheros, other than that, you get a small town friendly atmosphere! Even spoke with the owner who came to check on us!

Have eaten here before food was decent, but service has been lacking. This time we walked in and waited about 5 minutes to be seated, not sure why, the restaurant wasn't very busy. After I finally got someone's attention and asked to be seated, we had to wait for them to bring menus because they forgot. They finally brought chips and salsa and menus then vanished. After about 15 minutes of being ignored we got up to leave. I told the guy who seated us we were leaving because no one had come by to take our order and he just looked at me blankly.

Prairie House is a solid restaurant serving reasonably good food. Every thing we tried was enjoyable. The table favorite was the Banditos. The jalapeno wrapped in chicken then wrapped in bacon had outstanding flavors. On the flip side, the burnt ends were dry and over cooked. They were okay, but I would not order them again. The brisket queso was nice. The fried mushrooms and cheese were nicely done, but nothing special. I really appreciated that they had craft beers on the menu. The restaurant itself is very large with lots of seating in the bar and two side rooms. The decor feels a bit like a rustic lodge. Saltgrass and Texas Roadhouse come to mind.Service was nicely done. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and informative. When orders were delayed we were informed. I like the service team.Even though I enjoyed myself, I'm not sure I'd make a return visit. It's good food, but not great. The pricing makes it a little too much for me. Our total bill for four people was $166.80 with tax and tip. That's $40 a plate. I gave it four stars because a lot of people will love this place.
