On vacation in Cos Cob Connecticut, we've been visiting Port Orchard over the past week. Tonight we decided to try something new and chose this restaurant. We're not disappointed. The restaurant is clean, the service is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. I had a salmon dish, called Jericho. The salmon was perfectly done and tasty. Underneath were plantains, which are perfectly cooked. The salad dressing was excellent, and the presentation was excellent. My wife had the Ceviche, and she gave it a five-star. The corn empanadas were very good, and the spicy sauces they gave you were a slight bit on the vinegar side but yummy. For dessert, we had bread pudding with a guava ice cream called the Columbian Sunday which was quite tasty, but by the time dessert arrived we were stuffed. The Colombian coffee had a kick to it and it will keep you up at night. All in all, an excellent dining experience with excellent service in Port Chester. Our waitress was very sweet, and they generally cared about the quality of food they served you though we didn't drink any of the sangria wines, their selection seemed very good.

this is a fantastic addition to the area's dining choices. i believe it is a husband and wife team from peru and mexico - they have created an authentic local restaurant that is casual but classy, with a two-sided menu - mexican and peruvian. the selection is enormous and the well-qualified, friendly server was very patient explaining the various dishes we had interest in (my wife, me and a another couple.we made reservations for a friday night at 7:00 and they had a reserved sign on a table at the window - very nice. we were a bit concerned because by 7:30 only two other tables were filled. however, by 8:00 all the tables were full. they do not recommend reservations but i urge you to make them. a nice mix of nationalities dining - many hispanics which was very assuring. families and couples. appeared that everyone was having a good time and enjoying the food.warning - huge portions. see the pics. they do not have a liquor or beer licence yet and we were told we could not bring our own. but they have various soft drinks. the prices are from the 1980"s and we hope they cover their costs and make a nice profit. my belief is that they could easily raise their prices 15% and the value would still be there and customers would find the food affordable and not complain.we started with nachos (see the pic) a mountain covered with heart-stopping (literally) goodies. the serving, which i think was around $10 - could easily serve four as an app. we also had calamari (see pic) which was prepared well and included yuka which was good but a bit heavy for my taste. the table has three hot to very hot sauces that require caution if you are not used to hot sauce.i had one of several salmon (see pic) selections - tequila blended cream sauce and three large shrimp - huge piece of delicate and delicious salmon on a mound of rice. next time i would ask them for less sauce - my taste. came with a huge plate of fresh veggies (see pic). the three others had steak and shrimp fajitas which were large portions and delicious (see pics). i think each dish was about $18. very reasonable.the complimentary chips and salsa are made in the kitchen - very good. the salsa was a different style than i am used to but good.as a side-note. the server in this little mom and pop restaurant uses an ipad or tablet device to take orders - my guess is the orders then immediately appear in the kitchen. additionally, they swipe your credit or debit card on the device and you then designate the tip (please be very generous) then sign with your fingertip. you may have a receipt sent to your email. very cool feature.once again, the server and the service were friendly and helpful. water glasses were constantly filled and additional chips and salsa were requested and delivered at no extra charge. there must be close to a hundred total selections which is a challenge so take your time and look the menu over - both sides.i encourage everyone who likes this style of food to try this lovely local restaurant. not a big chain. it is open 7 days a week from 9:00am to i beleive 9:00pm. these are friendly, local, hard-working people who work incredibly long and hard hours and truly deserve to be a huge success - please help them be a success. enjoy your meal, white them up, tell other - and leave a very generous tip for the hard working staff.FYI - i have no relationship with the owners or the restaurant.sam marcusthank you for your feedback and all your kind words, looking forward to serving you again.

We have been to Panca four times in the last three months.Obviously, we really like it. The food is exceptionally tasty and prepared to order. The service is professional, friendly and helpful. Ask for recommendations and tell them what you like. I strongly recommend the ceviche Mixto, the best I’ve had and a very large portion. A good appetizer for two or an entrée after an appetizer. The Jalea is the best combination fried seafood anywhere. Calamari, shrimp, whitefish, mussels and crabs. Fabulous. My wife enjoys the whole Peruvian roast chicken served with lots of vegetables. The patrons are usually South and Central Americans, a testament to the food.

We had a Groupon that included a shared appetizer and 2 entrees. We started off with 2 very generous and reasonably priced glasses of Argentinian Malbec/Cabernet...decent. For shared appetizer we had the Mixed Fish Ceviche . It was outstanding! And included one large oyster, 2 large shrimp, calamari, tilapia and wonderful Peruvian corn, both steamed and roasted. I loved the roasted and my husband liked the steamed. For entrees we had the Surf 'n Turf...skirt steak and shrimp, very good with a side of yellow rice with carrots and peas, and I had the grilled chicken and a mixed salad. Unfortunately, I failed to question the dressing, as I would have preferred oil and lemon. It came dressed with a vinaigrette that was way too sweet for my taste buds. Our waitress, who appeared to be the only one on duty, and who was bartender as well, was attentive, charming, efficient (and gorgeous to boot). All in all, we had a good time and plan to return this weekend with some family. For me, the appetizer (Ceviche) will be my entree; more than enough, and so fresh and good.
