Founded in the 1530s, Ecuador's largest city and main port is the top access point for Galapagos cruises and home to a bustling import-export business. Tourism is on the rise as well, thanks to a new international airport and urban renewal projects along the River Guayas promenade and in the historic neighborhood of Las Peñas. The 465-step climb to the top of Santa Ana Hill provides sweeping views and a chance to stand on the site of the city's birthplace.

Poor quality at exorbitant prices. Not recommendable. A parrillada de mariscos which required a meat knife to cut many of the included pieces and two beers for $66...

The food is fairly basic, with a limited range of dishes. No beer is served and a very limited selection of wine. The service was reasonable, and the value was good.

The dishes with crab and seafood are nice but expensive. 3 crabs cost around $15 and the normal dishes not less than $12.
Price / Quality mmmI ordered charbroiled octopus....great texture, served with onions which ruin the taste of the octopus.Garlic crabs....just OK....they do not come with âpataconesâ or side dishes. Patacones are additional.Service is very kind....the guitar player has a good repertoire of 80s in Spanish....too loud for a restaurant. The environment very marine style...not fancy but very loud, and rustic...plastic furniture. For sure prices are too high for what you get.I might not come back....mmm no I wouldnât

We ate dinner there twice, once by coincidence on Valentineâs Day and it was interesting to see that the Ecuador customs were similar to Australia â wandering musicians, couples, ladies with roses, etc.The restaurant was crowded, so understandably, the service took a while, but good. The food was excellent (I am still coming to grips with the large servings with a huge meat focus in South America). My wifeâs braised steak with eggs, salad, rice and fries with a tasty tomato sauce was huge and delicious â she said. There are not many restaurants in this location, so we returned the next night.I ordered the same steak dish (Churresco) and was not disappointed but the service was shocking, in a half empty restaurant. They had run out of vino blanco and our order was mixed up.This is part of Unipark hotel - what sort of hotel is completely out of white wine?!

Beautiful hotel, and amazing value for it. The staff could not be friendlier, from the porter at the door to the front desk check-in, to the restaurant staff. The room is sharp, clean, and comfortable. The temperature indicators in the shower were backwards in my room but if that's the biggest problem there is no problem. The continental breakfast was great, the location is perfect. I loved this hotel and would absolutely stay here again.

Your distinctive Guayaquil hotel dining experience begins at Rio Grande Restaurant with cuisine that is exquisitely prepared by local culinary artisans, served by professional, friendly staff, and accompanied by an extraordinary wine list. Our lavish brea
We dined here and had a wonderful experience. You can set indoors or outside near the water. Service was really good. Cocktail prices very very expensive so we opted for a bottle of wine which was a better value. The ceviche here was great, better than in Peru. We shared a green salad with strawberries, orange slices, avocado and lettuce which was easily big enough to share. My husband had shrimp and rice which was delicious. I had mar y tierra ( surf and turf) which came with risotto and was also quite good, especially the beef. The mains are quite large servings.

Fantastic restaurant with superb service. All of our meals were excellent. Started off with banana chips with sauces. The very best banana chips I have ever tasted. We had the small salad and it was very unique with a tasty dressing. I ordered the lomo saltado estilo peruano. Tasted just like the lomo saltado in Peru but maybe even better. The flan was the best flan I have ever tasted. It had a coconut crust. I highly recommend this restaurant you will not be disappointed.
