You must try the "patacones con hogao", plantain with an special sauce, "empanadas" for the appetizer, they will give you a salad without asking, for the main dish you can try any of the angus meats, the portions are huge but delicious, they have salmon an robalo fish which are good, as the chicken is. For the desser ask for the "Rollo de Helado, con mora y arequipe", is an ice cream slice, topped with blackberries and arequipe. The prices are like $15-25 for the main dish.Only go there for luch, as far as I remember it is close by 6 pm. Not sure on weekends.

Es un restaurante casero en donde te atienden bien, son amables y los precios son justos. Tiene una ambientación adecuada para el pueblo, con decoración de electrodomésticos antiguos y mesas con cubiertas de cuero. La comida no es nada del otro mundo, los sabores están bien y la calidad de los platos es básica. La ensalada muy mal presentada y la salsa de la sobrebarriga es muy simple. La porción de aguacate deja mucho que desear.

We ate here two nights while staying at the El Dorado hotel that is actually attached to this restaurant with it's entrance located just around the corner. Our food was not only delicious but the quantity was so large that we had leftovers which they were so kind as to keep in their refrigerator for us till the next day. Their Jugos also were wonderful. Service was excellent and at 3,000 cp for a Colombia Club beer you can't go wrong.

We had a wonderful tasty meal with fresh ecologically grown ingredients at Estellaâs restaurant. The host who also is the cook receives you with utmost attention, she is a warm hearted person and makes you feel at home at once. You are surrounded by wonderful nature , 2 lovely dogs and a tame bunny. The restaurant has a rustic/folkloric setting at 1 km above town with the best views of the entire beautiful reservoir . Be aware of the signs indicating the turn up to the restaurant before you enter Guatavita coming from Bogota. Otherwise call Estella and she will send you the exact directions . Andrea and Ute

Good food, friendly service and magical surroundings. The establishment is a little rustic but very comfortable no one should be put off by this aspect of the place. The arrival of the food is not quick, but not slow and well worth the wait with some fresh bread and drinks to take in the spectacular view of the lake. The food quality is first class and well prepared. Afterwards or over coffee Take some time to explore the garden, field, play ground, what ever you wish it to be and talk with the family owners. Don't drive past but drive to this gem for a wonderfull experience. Terry UK
