Fuimos a cenar.

This local restaurant is located on the corner of Plaza Indepencia, the main square in Carmelo, Uruguay. The menu is varied offering pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and local dishes like a goat meat sandwich. The service is friendly, fast and efficient. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are large and filling. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner or deliveries to your hotel. I can highly recommend this for hearty meals and plenty of variety to suit all tastes and appetites.

We stopped here en route Colonia to Mercedes and felt we made a good choice. Had quite a selection from menu between us and all was good. Freshly prepared, promptly served with a smile and reasonably priced. I recommend.

What i remember most about this place is the presentation. Art on a plate always makes me feel so special eating it. The flavors mixed together in such creative ways. We ate all meals here for our two day stay and were always impressed with the quality and creativity. Great service which is hard to come by in S. America.

We ate here only after our concierge at the wonderful Carmelo Hyatt told us that our first choice for dinner that night, Restaurante CampTinto, was only offering grilled meat that night which wouldn't fly with one of our daughters. How lucky were we. Wonderful setting with old time cars on property, a friendly dog who wouldn't let me stock petting him and eclectic, great furnishings. The Narbona wines are dirt cheap with dinner here - $13 for a bottle of their tasty Rose? Yes please, we will have a few. Terrific steak. Great desserts. So happy I ate here, one of the highlights of my trip.
