We (group of 4) were looking for a pizza and this restaurante seemed like the best alternative, at least it had customers at the restaurant. Service started a little rough but it improved over dinner. Pizzas were just about average, beer was nice and cold, we brought a bottle of a nice wine we had just bought at a wine shop across the street. They charged a reasonable corkage fee.

Casa Tomada is an alfresco cafebar with a nice spacious garden. There's live music every evening and good company, a place where travellers alike get together! Join us!
Really pleasant atmosphere and good live music. Thoroughly enjoyed the wine too, although their pricing policy needs looking at as it was far, far cheaper by the glass rather than the bottle!Friendly welcome and I'd definitely return if I was in Cafayate.Thank you for writing, we're glad you enjoyed the place and that the atmosphere we're trying to create is being felt. Our family run bar has just re-opened and we have been reviewing our prices and menus, they are being arranged but we promise to always offer very challenging prices in comparism to other bars and bistros alike :) thanks once more and we hope to see you again! Perhaps it's because of the excellent service we received from our waiter Gustavo that I titled my review as i did. But the food was also good and the wines reasonably priced. Definitely a good dining experience.

Seemed like a good idea at the time. Sunday evening, not too many places open, but it turned out to be a bad choice. Limited menu, poor service by indifferent, almost surly waiter. One of the previous reviews mentioned good salads; I beg to differ. We ordered the Caretta 5. Yuk. Just when you thought things couldn't get worse, a tour bus load walks in.

A beatifull setting in doors and outdoors. Seating places for 60 guests, opened daily from 12 AM to 11 PM, specialized in regional food but also with international cuisine.
The Altaluna restaurant is top even on international standard and the best in the Cafayate aeria. The ambiance, the quality of the dishes and the wines of the own cave are on top level.

We stayed at the Wine Resort Vinas De Cafayate about a couple of miles outside of Cafayate, and due to a long day, we decided to eat at the restaurant onsite. We very surprised to find that the food was outstanding and for the quality very reasonable in price. The humita, a corn and cream traditional dish, was to die for. We had the pink trout with vegetables one night and the carne the next. They were delicious. The red wines (malbac and a cabernet/malbac blend) were very good. The waiters were attentive and helpful. This is a wonderful restaurant, well worth the 5 or so minute drive.

Menus made as innovation and product personalizada.Calidad dishes. Personal and professional attention
This pleasant and atmospheric restaurant is just 2 blocks off the main square. It offers a traditional regional food with a modern twist. Service is efficient. The place is nicely decorated. As part of the Nanni bodega their (good) wines are served there at a very reasonable price. The best place we tried in Cafayate. No problem and very recommendable.

Came for lunch and sat outside. Nobody helped us with the umbrellas that were blowing around. Meat we ordered was not "a la parilla" but pan fried - just in case you prefer it one way or another. Salad was white lettuce. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't rush back.

My husband and I went on the 3 hour horse back trail with a guided tour and it was an absolutely incredible experience. We had never ridden horses before but the horses were so kind a gentle, mine even stopped to eat some bushes on the way! The scenery is just beautiful and seriously a once in a lifetime experience. After the ride we ordered a very tasty lunch and relaxed sipping on some beer and wine looking at the animals (wich are all very well looked after). Come for the experience, stay for the food.
