We were four for lunch and stopped in this beautiful seaside town of Porto Cesareo. The food was quite good mostly seafood pasta dishes and other seafood items. It was medium high priced but justified based on the seaside location and quite good quality. It was quite busy as were most of the resaurants along this strip on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The service was a bit spotty - we did have to ask twice for a couple of items but the staff were trying hard to manage the business volume. Half way through our meal the entire restaurant was party to the loudest staff arguement/fight I have ever heard - not short either - not once either. We think at least one server walked out on the manager as we never saw this server again at our table. The affair was a bit uncomfortable even if our Italian is not very good - we didn't stick around for dessert.

We have eaten 2 nights in a row at La Piovra, and enjoyed both meals enormously. The staff are friendly and helpful. The fish is fresh and can be inspected in the cooler that is open to clients to view in the restaurant. The range of choice of meals is good, we really enjoyed the mixed sea food risotto one night, and the next we had grilled swordfish and I enjoyed a veal cutlet, both excellent. The wine list is extensive from inexpensive to more refined wines.

I went there with my parents who have been there before (and had a good experience). Unfortunately our night was a total disappointment at Cosimino. The food was good, not excellent though (vegetables with fresh fish were super dry and almost burned).The big disappointment started when getting the wine (2007 Negromano), it wasn't a cheap bottle and unfortunately the wine was too old or just not good anymore (which surprises me a bit but ok, it can happen and it's not the restaurants fault). How the service reacted when we informed them about it was just a disgrace. After telling us it was good (they were not even tasting or smelling) we told them we would like to choose another wine then. The service man walked away and called the restaurant manager who again said it was good but he will bring the wine card. By that time we were already 10mins into our main course and he never came back, even when we were waiving at him several times...we were ignored. I was very disappointed as I was expecting a nice dinner together with a nice bottle of wine. The wine never arrived.If a restaurant like this does not care about complaints it shows a lot. They might have a lot of guests every night but I will not go back. We visited a lot of restaurants during our stay in Puglia but this was actually the poorest in terms of service and customer friendliness.

Il ristorante è in pieno centro a Porto Cesareo, a due passi dal mare, con cucina tradizionale locale a base di pesce e anche di carne. Inoltre è anche pizzeria con forno a legna. Ampia scelta di pregiati vini locali e italiani.

Great place to eat and highly recommended. You will not be disappointed by the food and service. The people eat late so the restaurant does not open until 7pm. Eat a snack to hold you over but be prepared to eat lots and good.

Probably the most delicious seafood we have ever experienced. This family run business is stunning. Grand'Italia are serious about food, you have to taste it to believe it.... The baked seabass and baked mussels were a personal fav.... Ideal for big groups as its a big space over looking the ionian sea with little boats moored up. Beautiful, thank you Antonio,Consolata, Cosimo & all the team for your delicious food and great hospitality !!
