Traditional vietnamese restaurant in the old part of St.Gallen. We serve home cooked south-asian specialities freshly prepared. For lunch we offer an all you can eat buffet.
Arrived just before 6:00 PM without reservation. We were the second guests. I ordered Saigon beer Export and selected stir-fried pork & chicken with fried rice(there is a choice of white rice). My wife ordered wanton soup and spring roll Vietnamese style. Both are taste good. The floor is managed by only one person, Madame, so we could not expect very good service. But it's OK. She works very hard and we did not have any inconvenience. At check, I was embarrassed a bit, because it does not accept credit cards.

In St Gallen one must eat at least once a Bradwurst! So I went to the Alegloggli for this. The place is probably nicer outside than inside. But there is a nice mix of people, students like older clients. I was nicely welcomed on this quiet evening. Ordered a bratwurst menu:Salad or soup: Got a good veggie soup.Bratwurst with its traditional ognon sauce and rösti. Just delicious. A glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and I was set! Total cost: CHF 24.50 (18,50 for the food and 6 for the wine). Other dishes were available, notably several sorts of cordon bleu and Schnitzels. In short, a great place at decent prices!

We happened to spot this tea room on our way to the Hotel Vadian across the street and made a note to come back later in the afternoon for refreshing, healthy drinks. The proprietress is the real jewel of this very personal establishment. It is like an extension of herself - varied, international, spiritual, artistic, interested in healthy things. The menu varies according to her own tastes with so many interesting homemade herbal drinks. She had Belgian Waffles on the breakfast menu on the wall so we made a special appointment to come two days later for breakfast. She had picked berries from her own garden to put with the waffles and cream. The kitchen is open and you can see her concocting the specialties. The seating area is like in a home. And all the while, if you wish, she will chat with you, or leave you to enjoy the quietness. There is also outdoor seating on the cobblestones in this scenic old part of the city.
