When in the Shreveport area we like to try different places for lunch. Jacquelyn's Café was a real find. Apparently, many others think so as the dining area was crowded and based on conversations we overheard, many routinely eat there for lunch. The exterior was simple, but clean and fresh looking. There was plenty of parking in the immediate area of the restaurant. The interior was clean, functional, and comfortable. We ordered our sandwiches, a Reuben and a Monte Cristo, and paid the cashier. We retrieved our own beverages and our meals were speedily brought to our table. My Reuben was very good and my wife enjoyed her Monte Cristo although she said the bottom slice of toasted bread was a little soggy. The garnish was fresh as were the potato chips served with the sandwiches. The server was polite and professional and the price was very reasonable. We will return to Jacquelyn's Café for lunch.

What is it about this salad bar that makes my kids gobble up all the healthy food they turn away at home? Maybe the fresh selection and delicious muffins? Or is it just the idea that they can get whatever they want? In any case, we love this place and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Can't beat the free ice cream either!
