African and Caribbean dishes and specialties from award-winning Chef Ahmed Obo. Jambo Cafe specializes in new combinations of traditional dishes with a decidedly spicy flair. Winner of many awards, "Best Soup" for the Souperbowl 4 years running and "Best
Second visit, and another great experience. Four of us at the table were old Africa hands. We all agreed that the food was not only delicious, but authentic. (The fact that the owner and his brother chatted with us briefly in Kiswahili, and that the "happy birthday" procession for another table came with African drums, just confirmed this impression.) Also, our server was fantastic! The other two people in our party, who have never visited Africa or the Caribbean, enjoyed the food and experience just as much. So we can highly recommend Jambo Cafe to everyone!

La Choza was recommended by some friends for authentic NM food, and they did not steer us wrong! I may have to shame Colorado for this, but the trend to make crispy chili rellenos by wrapping them in an egg roll wrapper and stuff them with jack cheese is a travesty. It is a lazy alternative to making them authentically with egg batter and panela cheese. I was in chili relleno heaven at La Choza because they make the real deal and they are delicious! I usually bring home half of my food when I eat out, but I ate every bite of both rellenos and the rice and beans too! Not to mention that the blue and yellow corn tortilla chips and salsa are worth the $5 they charge. Normally I am offended by places that charge for chips and salsa when they are straight out of a bulk bag, but the charge for these was justified. We didnât leave a crumb behind. My husband got chicken enchiladas and they were also wonderful. His margarita was also the best heâs had in NM.

Amazing that a fairly small bistro can daily produce a wide variety of excellent breakfast and lunch taste treats, with an emphasis on French and fresh! Interesting hot and cold buffet items change daily, specialty hot plates, great design-your-own sandwiches, comfy environment, helpful and friendly staff/owners. French onion soup like it's supposed to be. Ruebens that are a meal in themselves. French dips prepared to perfection -- with only great beef, nicely textured rolls and tasty au jus.

The southwest is full of restaurants that prepare Mexican themed food. The quality of these places is all over the place, while the menus look similar. The Blue Corn is above average in preparation and ingredients. The soup is worth mentioning.
