We booked ahead to get an outside table at the harbour edge.Well worth it as the view was great.Whilst this was our most expensive meal in Rovinj it was worth it. We opted for the catch of the day and had a whole sea bass. Cooked to perfection it was soft and tender with bags of flavour. Our waiter took the head off and the bones out. Both our boys enjoyed their meals as well, the eldest had a mixed fish plate which was fabulous and was huge.Beer and rose wine both good as well.Thoroughly recommended, just expect a bill that matches.

My husband and I visited this restaurant for dinner. Even though it was saturday evening and busy, the waiters seemed too over-stressed. Food quality was just average and no attention paid to the servings. My husband ordered a Steak La Perla and a cucumber salad. The salad was a whole cucumber cut in slices, nothing else, no dressing, no spices. On the table was olive oil and balsamico, so you are supposed to create your own dressing. My tomato salad was similar- only 6-8 whole tomatos cut in squares! My fish Filet la Perla was a white fish, ok tasting, nothing special, with grilled vegetables- not a lot and some if the succinis raw/not cooked. Not worth the money.

Beautifully located in the heart of Rovinj, the tavern offers warm hospitality and a relaxed atmosphere. Your dinner will be a memorable gastronomic feast featuring authentic dishes inspired by Rovinj's rich fishing tradition.
Konoba Kantinon tries to offer something a little different to the average tourist eatery, some of which worked for me, some of which did not. It's a lovely restaurant on the harbour with seating both inside and out and friendly staff. The first night we had Makerel & Skuta with toasts for starter which was really good followed by Ox Cheeks with Vegetables and Ox Sauce and Local Fish Fillet with Olives and Tomatoes. The ox cheeks were excellent while the fish wasn't particularly to my taste. With a couple of beers the final bill came to 435 HRK or around £53.On the second night we had the Octopus Salad with toasts which was also really good followed up with Monkfish with Fennel & Zucchini and the Hake & Chard Pie. I found both the mains a little bland and lacking strong distinctive flavours especially the lemon sauce with the monkfish. For pud we tried the Panacotta which was quite nasty. I'm not sure what it was made with but it was unlike any panacotta I have had before and not in a good way! The final bill came to 488 HRK or around £60 with a beer and a glass of wine. This is a nice restaurant that serves innovative and unusual dishes (unfortunately not all were to my taste) but it still offers excellent value for money.Dear guest,Thank you for such a detailed comment. We love it when our guests specifically comment on the dishes, which helps us improve. Therefore, I will certainly investigate what happened with the panna cotta desert and the seasoning on the fish dishes you mentioned.Would be glad to have you as our guest again on your next visit to Rovinj,Best regards
