I had the Low Country Boil. Excellent fresh flavorful hot steamed shrimp. Fresh boiled corn on cob thatâs never been frozen. The sausage is excellent as well. I know boiled shrimp and I have no complaints here. Thumbs up. Great service with speedy service even when very busy.

We visit this place every year during our annual golf tournament and this place never lets us down. The food is outstanding, the service is great and the atmosphere is electric. If you do not stop to eat here on your visit to Hilton Head, you will be doing yourself a horrible injustice.Thanks for the compliment! We're so glad you stop by! See you again next time :)

Has become our traditional âlastâ dinner before our drive home. While all the food was good as it usually is, we felt unwelcome this time (we ate early) and pushed out the door because it was their seafood night. Overheard one server (whom we have had before and was pleasant) complain about a âmeltdownâ of a child at an adjacent table and the manager/owner was meandering around with a scowl. Place was a favorite at the endof our multiple trips per year to HHI but this visit was just off. Hostesses struggled to seat us and needed help finding a table as we did not have a reservation.Our server was great and attentive.Food is good comfort food and always is more than adequate but itâs the rush to turn our table and the fact that we were made to feel intrusive by one of the hostesses which left the poor taste this time. If you couldnât seat us due to no reservation (and this restaurant is not jammed most nights) no problem, we get it. But to make a show of the fact that we were a walk-in and take an inordinate amount of time to demonstratively find us a table left a negative impression.So, to be fair, very good food, service missed the mark. It happens. But as a former restaurant owner, Iâm not sure Iâd have those two hostesses as the face of my business if they canât handle a walk-in on a busy evening a little more deftly.Still a place weâll return to.Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. Although it has taken me time to respond ,we did see this review and take action. We are so sorry you felt unwelcome . We did review the issues with our team and hopefully have taken the steps to rectify these issues. As for me and my scowl, I do apologize. I very rarely get angry but I do often look like I am mad. Seventeen of us met at Captain Woodyâs, Hilton Head, to bid friends goodbye. They had worked at our resort for one year and were moving on to another assignment. Since the restaurant is two blocks from our resort, it was the perfect gathering spot.We called ahead for a 5:30 reservation during Happy Hour. Happy Hour food is served daily from 4-7 daily at the bar only. We had a nice area reserved for the group on the level below the bar; the waitstaff had no issues with providing more chairs when more people showed up. It was a little difficult to carry on a conversation with a group at the bar having a good oleâ time but it worked out. We were seated outside on a perfect evening and located away from foot traffic. The restaurant is described as a âfun and casual seafood restaurant with plenty of options for land lovers as well.â The entire menu is available for lunch and dinner with an indoor and outdoor bar and patio seating. TVâs are posted for the latest ballgame. Our waiter brought waters and took drink orders which arrived in adequate time. We rarely have time to chat with each other; the waitstaff understood this and were in no rush to take the orders; separate checks were no problem. Each of us enjoyed our choices. Fish Tacos, Crab Bisque, BLTâs, Shrimp Salads, Black Bean Burger, and Grouper Melt were popular choices. The portions were enormous and served in large bowls or platters. I had the Fish Tacos (2) and asked for a to-go box because I could eat only one.Several years ago, Captain Woodyâs was located at Palmetto Bay Marina, which was not the most ideal location. The move to Target Road has improved their visibility and traffic. Live music is available during the week and on the weekends. Captain Woodyâs Bluffton is located at 17 State of Mind St.We saw our friends off in style. Captain Woodyâs was a great setting to capture memories among friends.Thank you for coming in!
