Find out what Soups restaurants to try in Catania. Catania has been a prize of many empires over the centuries, from Greeks to Romans to Arabs to Normans to Spaniards (to name a few). But its citizens have a more dangerous enemy right in their backyard—Mount Etna, Europe's largest and most active volcano, which destroyed the city with earthquakes and lava flows in 1693. Look closely at the baroque buildings dating from after the eruption—you'll notice a creative use of lava.

Oxidiana opened its doors to diners in October 2001. The restaurant's accomplished chefs - Akira and Take - give you the opportunity to savor some of the freshest, most authentic Japanese cuisine available anywhere, all within a magical atmosphere of imag
Oxidiana was tastefully wonderful. (Iâm not certain, but I think the word oxidiana means layers, such as volcanic glass. Assuming because of the volcanic history of activity nearby?)So my guess is possibly because the restaurant has layers of goodness?Anyway, if you live here or are simply traveling through Catania and looking for something other than Italian, youâll be happy to try Oxidanaâs. Their portion sizes are enough to share!! The staff and service were spot on.Iâve added only two photos, but you cannot go wrong with anything you order. Trust me, we watched every dish as it came out.I would suggest making a reservation. We did so on their website. It was very crowded. It was a taste to remember.

We decided to go to this restaurant on our first night in Catania after reading all the positive reviews and were greatly disappointed. The service was good, but the food was found wanting. We ordered the crunchy octopus to start. The presentation of the dish was great, but the octopus was rubbery and chewy. The mains were ok. It all felt a little overpriced for the quality of the dishes we received.

I found this restaurant in tripadvisor. It was tasty like other people said. The dishes abd ingriedients was very fresh and well prepared. We ate appetizer ( octopus salad and caponata) and swordfish for main course. It was something more than tipical sicilian cousine. Cook is adding heart to his dishes! Also the waiter was very nice and propose us a lot of good food in very natural way! I definitelly must visit the restaurant againt!

Just walk in off the street and be prepared for the genuine Sicilian experience. The seafood is wonderful and the pastas handmade and the service genuine and warm and friendly. It felt like genuine neighborhood restaurant off the beaten path and clearly a favorite with the regulars. Delightful!

Our last meal in Catania was here and highly recommended. Tried to eat here Thursday but was booked out so we made a reservation for Friday. Menu was extensive but would have liked one with English translation. However the food we ordered was first rate. Fresh seafood and beautifully cooked and presented. House wine was also excellent. When visiting Catania it would be a must to eat here. The Gala Di crudite del mare (octopus, tuna, sea urchins and prawns cooked in lemon) for antipasto was fantastic but be warned in a large serving. Wife has sea bass which was equally as good. A perfect meal for our last in Catania

On Christmas holidays the structure WILL BE OPENED on MONDAY 'December 19 and 26 2016 . Catania Ruffiana wishes you HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!!!
We found this on trip advisor . We were not disappointed. We we placed near a large table of loud middle Englishmen .who conversation was so loud to distract us. However the waiter very quickly reseated us in s much better position. The house red wine was excellent ... a real plumy bodied quality tipple , complimented by very high quality bread, and unusual complimentary brushette, Our main courses were very tasty, obviously homemade pasta with great salmon/ seafood. We we then given complimentary warm pistachio browniesWould certainly recommend and a 20% discount thanks to tripadvisorCaro recensore, grazie tante per tutti i suoi apprezzamenti...Grazie per il consiglio ai viaggiatori di questa community....Saluti da Catania Ruffiana

This close to our hotel who recommended it, and we ended up here three times. A very unassuming place frequented by the locals and for good reason. Excellent food and friendly service.Wine list is tiny but a good fish selection, and great pizzas. Gets very busy on a Friday so get there before 8 for a table.

Had dinner here twice and everything was excellent. Food, service and ambience. And prices were very reasonable for this standard of dining.Mussels were perfect, tuna crusted with pistachios was great, as were the fried seafood and seafood roll plates. Chocolate soufflé and tiramisu were delicious. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
