Visited this restaurant for breakfast a couple of times during our Amsterdam trip. Quaint small restaurant with the nicest most gracious staff and delicious breakfast choices. We had the pancake and waffle choices along with the fresh squeezed OJ. Perfect way to start the day. And love their morning song tracks. Highly recommend!

The Seafood Bar van Baerlestraat

During our stay in Amsterdam, my wife and I had the pleasure of dining twice at The Seafood Bar. Both evenings the meals were excellent. We were greeted warmly by Ilias, who later helped us arrange a reservation for the second visit. The menu consists entirely of seafood dishes. Each of our selections were expertly prepared and were delicious. The Dover sole was the best I’ve ever eaten. We were fortunate on both occasions to have Juliette as our waitress. As we were deciding on what to order, her recommendations were both helpful and knowledgeable. Juliette was gracious and friendly and greatly added to our enjoyment of both evenings. The restaurant is very popular and reservations are recommended. We loved The Seafood Bar and will absolutely return on our next visit to Amsterdam.

Pho King

This restaurant sticks to a very limited range of dishes, but does them extremely well. There are 4 different types of pho, for instance, but the owner recommended “one or two.” We had delicious starters - a mixture of deep fried items and a perfect shrimp spring roll - and wished we hadn’t when 2 huge bowls of very substantial soup arrived. The meat in the pho, and all of the vegetables were fresh, and the broth added a very flavoursome complement.A Vietnamese lady on the neighbouring table confirmed the authenticity of the dish.Three caveats, if they bother people: 1) no alcohol, just soft drinks from the fridge; 2) this is a very small place - there is space for about 12 people, and it was very full all the time we were there and 3) the decor is very basic with metal tables and basic seating. It’s worth it, though, for the food and the price - about 20 euros a head for two very full stomachs.
