Located on the seafront, speciality seafood.. Outside seating with roof that closes. Recommended by the very nice hostel around the corner. Atethere June 2010
Location is perfect, at the waterâs edge. Service was welcoming and friendly. Our disappointment in our overall experience, though, had to do with how our order was handled and quality of the meal.We wanted to order bursara shrimp (with tomato sauce, not the white wine sauce) but the server insisted that the white wine sauce was better. We said we prefer the red sauce. After we placed our order, the server returned to say we should go for the Adriatic shrimp because itâs much better. I asked the price and he said, 'it's just a little more,â so we went for the upgrade. When we received our meal, he delivered the Adriatic bursara shrimp with white sauce. When we reminded him that we preferred the red sauce, he took it back to have it adjusted. By the time my momâs shrimp was adjusted with red sauce, I was nearly done with my meal of fried calamari and shrimp. When we got the bill, we found that the Adriatic shrimp was 30EU and the shrimp we originally wanted was 17EU. I expect a 3-5EU difference, but it was 13EU more! I didn't clarify the cost of the upgrade when our server suggested it, but 13EU is a considerable difference. It's not the cost that's bothersome to me, but the way it was presented as 'a little difference.'Food service was a bit slow (even though the large group before us had already been served) and with the back and forth with the placement and delivery of our order, it wasnât exactly a relaxing experience. Food quality and taste of our meal was just ok.This experience is somewhat unfortunate because this was our only meal in beautiful Piran and IVO was specifically recommended to me.

no known website. Listed in several other on-line reviews. Perfect for Trip Advisor: Out-of-the-way fish joint with outstanding food and local ambiance, reasonable prices for a tourist town. There may be others as good in Piran, but it's hard to imagine a
I was amazed reading in the reviews (post visit) that this restaurant is crowded and requires reservations. I went there for an early dinner to eat something before my bus left to Ljubljana. I was met at the restaurant door by a rather sour-faced individual who took exception when taking my order of just fish soup (which I changed later to soup and Mussels au naturel. This was a lucky decision because the soup was hardly edible. It was with surimi â in the coastal restaurant... Mussels were very good though. Thankfully, I was discarded by a sour-faced individual as an unprofitable client, so the rest of the service was quite nice. But still I do not understand the great reviews. The chef who makes such soup could go for a schooling even to the fishmarket of Helsinki where they make excellent soup.

The night we arrived in piran there was a huge electrical storm. This held is up getting to the restaurant. They still let us in late and without a reservation. Food was lovely. Had the spaghetti alle vongole. Lovely homely traditional feel to three place and friendly service.

Yesterday rain was pouring in Piran, and we got caught up in the middle of a storm, so we decided to enjoy our dinner at this restaurant which is located at the beginning of the harbour. We sat in the outdoor terrace, from which we had a nice view despite the cold wind.We ordered cevapcici, a salad and grilled bell peppers.Food was good, although the peppers could have been hot, and my ajvar was never brought to the table but in the end we were charged for it to my disappointment. We also had a baklava which was very good and large.Overall a good place to dine at, if you do not eat meat your choice will be very limited though.Service was friendly but could have been more attentive.

For one of the best restaurants in Piran, we certainly did not think so. The bread was good and the service was fine. The area was very sticky and hot because itâs in a side street. My parents had risotto with asparagus and scampi. It tasted ok, all I could taste was cream. My brother had the chicken and dried ham and it was ok too. It wasnât served particularly well. I had the tuna steak with spinach and potatoes. The tuna steak was fine but it was overdone, chewy and tasted more like ham than anything. The potatoes were fine and the spinach tasted dirty. Iâm sure there are better options on the menu, but what we had wasnât worth having.

I wandered into this restaurant for a late lunch after realizing that the restaurant in my hotel was already closed. I am a foodie from the San Francisco area and also travel quite a bit so I am used to world class food. This restaurant is incredible! It absolutely rivals Michelin star restaurants in the Bay Area. I was dining alone as my family was resting or swimming. I ordered the carpaccio with truffles and it was fantastic. The plate of carpaccio was set down in front of me and the waitress had a bowl of fresh truffles in her hand. She shaved a generous portion onto my carpaccio. Fresh truffles are amazing because the taste is much more subtle than truffle oil (which can be overwhelming). I also ordered sea bass with truffles which was almost too good for words. It was a genuinely memorable meal and the service was outstanding. The wine was great also. My meal was ended with a small glass of homemade creamy limoncello. I am already planning my return!

Situated between two top class hotels, this restaurant served wonderful quality grilled fish. The fish was presented complete and de-boned and served by an experienced member of staff. (might have been the boss)Facing onto the square with the ruins of an old church. Reach by road or just alone the Promenade from the Grand Hotel Bernardin, and up a flight of steps

I did my research on lunch spots before going to Piran. This place got great reviews and did not disappoint. There is a menu with descriptions of the dishes in English, making ordering a little easier. We loved the fried squid and grilled polenta. The order window added to the charm and a waitress came by for drink orders once seated. We really enjoyed dining outside in a casual atmosphere with delicious food.

The food was very tasty and varied. We had a slight misunderstanding and they solved it instantly. Location might not be the best but you forget that quickly because the atmosphere is nice. Feels genuine. Also as someone who always wears shorts and skirts, I was happy about the padding on my chair haha!
