We were starved, just in from the beach, didnât know what to order. The place was packed with locals. Lots taking big bags of take-out. The woman behind the counter took the time to explain the spices and flavors, gave us multiple samples. We ordered the salmon and it was amazing! Fast service, so so so fresh and scrumptious! Free onsite parking, full meals under $12.

Although located away from the Waikiki area, Fresh Catch is a great place to grab some good local food. On the menu are several Ahi dishes: fried Ahi, seared Ahi, Ahi Poke, an Ahi Roll, Ahi belly, Ahi Sandwich, Crab Stuffed Ahi, Ahi Katsu.... there is also Beef Stew, Oxtail Soup, Furikake Salmon, Fish and Chips, Poke Bowls, Hawaiian Plate, Sauteed Garlic Shrimp. LauLau Plate, Teri Chicken & Tomato Basil Ono.We have tried the Ahi Poke Bowl and the Oxtail Soup... both are very good.

Hoku's at The Kahala Hotel & Resort is heralded for its tantalizing menu featuring global Hawaiian cuisine. Open nightly for dinner and for it's famous Sunday Brunch, the menu draws on four distinct themes that allow guests to experience Chef de Cuisine E
Finally! a restaurant that sells deep fried goat cheese laying like two wagon wheels against a bed of lightly dressed frisse, thinly sliced apples, hidden beets, and in your face tomatoes! I could have done well with just a bowl of deep fried goat cheese and beets though, but thatâs just me, Iâm simple and I like what I likeâ¦Hokuâs I like.. One thing I must say about Hokuâs throughout the years though, they have been very consistent when it comes to excellence in fine dining and service. I sometimes wonder if the romantic ambiance facing the sunset overlooking the beach with the swaying coconut trees has some sort of hypnotic feature into creating an even more truly marvelous dining experience. This is definitely the place you should take your first date to, spend your anniversaries at, or any celebratory experience where you want to wow your company. Seafood tower and fried fish not recommended for the romantic date as appetites are usually abstemious, and both are portions built for two 8 foot tall 400 pound giants, or one skinny hot dog champion named kobayashi, or a family of 4-6. The seafood tower consists of a myriad of crab legs, lobster, shrimps, hamachi, salmon, ahi, abalone, tako, & poke. The whole fried fish consists of an orgasmic artery clogging crispy perfection, that turned my friends into savages, yes savages I tell you, so addictive was the flavor and freshness of the fish, they could not help but to tear off every bit of the fish from tail to fin, to eyeballs with their bare hands. Like two starving zombies they sat there eating as if they werenât already full from the risotto, ravioliâs, seafood tower, bread baskets filled with whole wheat sour dough, clean kakimochi crisps, croissants slathered with the their own home made ahi dip, it was like they were in a trance staring into space with each bite, and we were watching them as if they were on a tv show called the walking dead. I was full, I couldnât even eat my duck because the fish was served with a seasoned rice, shitake mushrooms, and bok choy. You know when you see a great movie it leaves you with a feeling, and like a great movie Hokuâs leaves you feeling something, and the feeling that has stained our minds as I write this isâ¦.. I really, really, really, want to eat that fish!Aloha! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience We're thrilled to hear that our service and atmosphere exceeded your expectations. We're so glad that you enjoyed the seafood tower. If you haven't tried our Shellfish Ravioli, we highly recommend them. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

Roy's is a high-end chain serving notable chef Roy Yamaguchi's Hawaiian fusion fare in a contemporary setting. Located on the ocean side of the Hawaii Kai Town Center, about 25 minutes from Waikiki, is this Original Roy's establishment. The food and service were both outstanding. Seating downstairs, with in or outdoors, is primarily for the non-reservation folks. Upstairs indoor dining is for the reservation customers. Choose the upstairs option for the best views. We had tBrie Melt for a starter followed by the Shellfish Combination and the Mac Nut Opa which was a little pricey but outstanding. The dining experience lasted about two hours. Parking is next door and is free. Both upstairs and downstairs options include a sit down bar. A Hawaiian Flat Guitar musician was playing soft dinner music downstairs (Wednesday through Saturday). There are several other locations in the Islands but this is the Original. Our server, Jason, was friendly, knowledgable, and efficient. All in all Roy's is a special occasion setting.

We are very glad we chose Buzzâs today! We were promptly seated and served and our drinks were very good as well! My husband really enjoyed the pulled pork topped with pineapple coleslaw and I really loved the teriyaki chicken burger with crispy fries! We were too full for dessert but highly recommend this spot when in the area!

In a very casual, rustic order-at-counter restaurant setting with limited seating, the Shack provided outstanding food from coconut shrimp to steak to kalbi shortribs. The entire family of 12, including adults and teenagers, all enjoyed the food. Super ambiance although very casual. Must visit!
