Only my second ever trip advisor review, but my excellent experience here and felt I must comment. Fernando and his family are amazing hosts and so welcoming. After travelling around Cuba for two weeks this casa was an oasis calm and fun, so much so that one of my travel partners stayed on for a couple of nights. Fernando himself took care of everything that we asked for, from arranging horse riding to amazing food every night (I can speak with some authority on the food as I am a chef having cooked for most of the heads of state from around the world). Fernando and his wife even joined us for a night out at our request, and took us to some great places that the locals keep up their sleeves, and all the locals welcomed us with opened arms. Fantastic experience from start to finish!

This was the first restaurant as you leave the Hotel Ermita and was typical of the area where you have a small restaurant attached to someoneâs home. The restaurant was spotlessly clean with crisp white table cloths and it was such a shame that we were the only ones there (but it was low season). The food was really tasty and well-presented and at 10 CUC/person for your usual banquet was good value. Two of us had the lobster which was served in a delicious tomato sauce. We all loved the rice with black beans.They could not do enough for us and even let us try the wine before committing to it, we were pleased at that given the Cuban wine was not to our taste â it was no problem to change this to a Spanish red

I ate many wonderful meals in Cuba but Clarita's was by far the best. Incredible food, spectacular view/scenery (see photos) and especially wonderful owners. This paladar is in the Pinar del Rio area (Vinales) close to the tobacco farms. A bit "out of the way" which is the only way to get this kind of scenery and authentic experience.
