This is exactly what I was looking for during this trip, a simple eatery offering great food! I was certainly NOT disappointed...Everything is obviously freshly picked up and if you are into "Crab a la Plancha" this is the place! This is a family restaurant, fun... friendly and welcoming.Pity it 's too far away for me or else I would come back again and again!

This family run restaurant is the definition of top quality simplicity. The food is top notch...both the fish and meat dishes. I have eaten there many times and continue to be amazed by how good the food is....amazing how you can serve beautiful food that is cooked to perfection with no fuss or sauces or creams....just right! Highly recommended....and the service is lovely , always there but never overbearing. Bravo

Had a fabulous lunch here with local Spanish friends who asked for a selection of delicacies- the fried calamari were the tastiest I've ever had, as was the local speciality fabada, and my first taste of sea urchins (erizo del mar) won't be the last. The waiting staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. A total delight.

We spent a few hours in Tazones on our way back from Ribadesella to Madrid - what a wonderful seaside town!We stopped for lunch at La Nansa and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the food - what a little gem. You can't beat eating seafood right next to the sea.

We had breakfast, lunch and late night snacks here during a weekend stay in the village. Whatever the time, the bill, the table ( inside, on the terrace or at the bar ), we were treated as welcome guests. The food was delicious and reflected the professional, attention to detail employed by all here. A place to savour in every way.

We where in Villaviciosa for a week to celebrate my parents in law 50th wedding anniversary. We stayed in a rural house. We found out about El Catalin, through TripAdvisor and as always, followed the reviews! The 1st time we ate at Catalin, was the actual day of the wedding anniversary. We were 9. We waited at the beautiful terrace for everybody to arrive. While we sat there, we aked for ome cider and they showed us how to "escancear" and even gave us a little plastic tool for the bottle to help you not to make a mess.!They accomodated us in a beautiful table at the corner with a wondeful view. The food was incredible. We ate mariscadas, almejas, fish, arroz con bogavante. Everything was delicious, right temperature, nice presentation and a lot of food.At the end of the meal, they bring you a pot of coffee for the table. Beautiful presentation and you serve yourself. They also brought us a complimentary bottle of Cider for us to toast.Three days later we repeated the restaurant since everyone was very pleased. The 2nd experience was as good as the first!
