Great quality pasta and pizza and cozy environment. The cakes were delicious as well. They have one of the best, friendliest services I had in ages. I will be back!

Loosing yourself and feeling transported to another dimension, to an unreal world, to a parallel universe where the taste is the king. This is what you feel like having dinner here. As Alice in Wonderland, getting inside Elià Restaurant you discover a new reality, without moving from Trieste, from your seat, you travel to the magnificent Greece and at every morsel you get deeper and deeper into Greek reality. You can smell the perfumes of herbs, of the oil, of the sea, you can hear the sound of waves, the goats bleating, the fishermen happy chat. Here every taste tells you a story, it seems you to be in a tasty dream you wish it will never end

This is a very popular fish restaurant in the center of Trieste, one block from the sea front. You must make reservations there, and prefer the first rather than the second shift which is more in demand. The restaurant is offering absolutely fresh fish and sea food. We were there in the season of sole fish from the Adriatic, and they were served in a simple but excellent grilled sauce. The menu is quite extensive, and the accompanying white wine (Sauvignon Blanc of Fruscalzo) was superb, fresh, a bit grassy as it should be, and very enjoyable. A nice restaurant.

Trattoria Al Faro, a small, rustic village inn built at the beginning of early '900, in close proximity to the historic monument Triestino "The Victory Lighthouse". Located in a unique position from which extends a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Trieste
We were greeted pleasantly and shown to our table. The setting is very pretty surrounded by flowers and looking out towards the ocean. The restaurant is known for its seafood but for an entree I had baked goats cheese wrapped in prosciutto which was amazing. I savoured every mouthful. My husband had the shellfish Au Gratin which he also enjoyed. I was a little disappointed with the mixed seafood plate. I felt the sardines were overlooked but the squid and prawns were tender. An enjoyable experience.

The kindest hosts in the tiniest restaurant. Food so delicious you won't want to eat a anywhere else...The seafood is so fresh and beautifully prepared, the pasta Scoglio so juicy you need an apron to fully enjoy (provided by the house!). I would eat here every day....as a woman dining alone they did everything to make me feel comfortable, relaxed and attentive, I felt totally at ease, and enjoyed a long evening with no pressure to vacate my table, rather plenty to encourage me to linger with limoncello(s) being offered more than once! Book ahead, little chance to be indulged if you don't!

We had a lunch with the family during a short stay in Trieste. We booked in advance, as the place is very small. The fish and seafood starter was excellent, as the calamari I had as main. The kids had gnocchi and my wife went for the seafood pasta and were very satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food. The kids loved the tiramisu as dessert. The service was efficient and the price very reasonable. It is an informal, but very genuine local setting with a family and homely feeling. Highly recommendable for a quick informal lunch.

Either you enter by chance or you are taken there by someone who has been there before: the tiny entrance is barely visible on a busy street of the city centre. You enter, go down three steps, and you find a place much bigger than expected, and very pleasantly decorated. This family-run small restaurant offers great fresh seafood. In spite of the mouthwatering offer of nouvelle-cuisine type dishes, we chose simple well-known dishes because they are often a very good test of quality. Passed with full marks. And a very reasonable bill. Eric will see me again when I am back in town!

Lebanese restaurant in Trieste ! Authentic taste and food in a modern style with a large choice of lebanese wines
Our hotel tried to warn us off this restaurant as not being nearly as good as reviewed--4.8/5...we ignored the hotel staff and went anyway. We were the first of the evening to arrive. Initial service was pleasant and attentive. We were informed of an item or two on the menu not being available and about 30% of their very short wine list was also not available. Humus selection was great...after all it should be in a Lebanese restaurant. My wife was pleased with her food, I thought mine was good, but not exceptional in any way. As business picked up we were totally ignored. No one ever checked on the food or offered to get more wine. When we were finished we placed our silverware in our plate, after a 15-20 minutes wait we were still sitting with our plates. We then pushed them so they were about 30% off the edge of the table and within 5 minutes they cleared our plates. 10-15 minutes passed and they never returned to inform or inquire about deserts. I finally flagged the manager and I requested the check. When he provided it we put down a Visa card...he said they could not process a card for payment. That was the last straw and we made our displeasure clear. He said we were rude and disrespectful in an apparent effort to quiet our concerns..to which I responded, bad service is disrespectful and gave him the litiney of issues. He then attributed our disappointment to our being Americans--that's rich, he took no responsibilty. Over all the food is good, prices are reasonable, but it is not anywhere near 4.8--maybe 3.5--3.8, wine selection small and what we had was relatively mediocre, decore plain and truly charcoal grey, service terrible, attitude not too good either. Our hotel was right. First of all we are not the restaurant of 5 stars and don't pretend to be.The scoring on social networks is an evaluation of quality/price/service that we offer.Let's return to the facts in order that you wrote. One dish from menu wasn't available but you forgot about other 2 dishes that we had out of menu. As we are not 'commercial' restaurant it happens often that something is not available because we're preparing all dishes that we offer to our clients. The list of wines? There wasn't available 2 types of Lebanese wine (Ksara red and Kouroum) but there was other types of wine of high quality that you can't find in Lebanese restaurant of 5 stars (Chateau Musar: Jeune red 2014, Jeune white 2014, Gaston Hochar red 2003; Ixsir: Altitudes white 2016, Altitudes red 2012, Altitudes rose 2015, Grande reserve white 2015, Grande reserve red 2011; Ksara: Blanc de l'observatoire 2014 and 2016, Sunset rose 2015). Italian wines were even more from which Pinot grigio and Friulano from Reguta that you've drunk. What about your 'Americans so rich' is your conclusion and not ours. Offer other wine? The type of service is based on feedback from the client and we are not disturbing other clients any second if they want other glass of wine or no. Is enough to ask for it. Anyway the fact that you didn't tell the word from when you entered with your superior area despite seeking a feedback from our staff you created the service that you wished. What about 15 minutes of waiting - due to etiquette rules only after puting cutlery in plate you can talk about the time of waiting. The payment? I don't know what did you mean with that. Anyway our answer was that there wasn't connection where you were sitting and we asked to come to bar to pay with card.Your wife has beaten her hand on the glass of the table with risk of break it and talked to manager with high voice making other guests notice your reaction. The way in which you react with high voice shows your rudeness in comparison to our staff and you decided that you are rich and despise.

Been to a number of sushi restaurants multiple times in Trieste as I like sushi :) I-sushi while lacking a super high level compared to the world, delivers the best sushi in Trieste, and by a pretty fair margin. I've eaten here about 4-5 times and have had a good experience each time.I only come for lunch as the restaurant is not busy at those times and you can sit down and properly enjoy the meal comfortable for as with most restaurants in Trieste space is limited. I'd recommend trying the shrimp gyoza they offer as its something a bit different to most gyoza, and I find myself ordering every time I go, so it must be good.

Last week we visited Castello d' Miramare in Trieste. We then started walking back to town and saw this Trattoria. After a friendly reception by the manager we were immediately seated. I ordered a grilled octopus dish that came with amazing potatoes, rocket and delicious tomatoes. The octopus was meaty and tender and the grilling spices used made for an unbelievable taste sensation. I don 't know what anyone else in our party had for lunch and I don't really care. All I want is some more of that octopus!
