Grand Cafe Cornelis at your service- for lunch, diner & drinks! Relax & enjoy in the center of Epe in the former townhall and historical building contemporary restored! Homemade cuisine in mediterranean style.
This place was quite a surprise. Looking from the outside, we expected a traditional restaurant, "bruin café"-like but the interior is surprisingly modern and trendy. We had a very nice dinner there (fish-menu and vegetarian burgers), the meals were creative, original and very good, the portions were perfect. We had been warned that they had a DJ and he would work just behind our table but he was considerate enough to start when we were having our coffee and the music was at a perfect sound level: loud enough so we could really enjoy the atmosphere but not so loud that we couldn't hear each others.

Little wonder this great restaurant has such strong reviews as it delivers on pretty well every level.Despite having to recently hire a new chef the standard of food, presentation and overall quality is excellent. The tuna entrée with mekame seaweed, squid ink mayonnaise and avocado cream with langoustine foam was really excellent. For mains we picked filet of bream and the veal cooked two ways - slow and seared, delicious. My mouth watering dessert was raspberries, with raspberry ice cream, raspberry caviar and merangue......perfect.While the menu is entirely in Dutch the staff painstakingly took us through each dish to ensure we understood them before making our choices. The décor and ambience are tasteful, charming and make for a very relaxed evening. The wine list is reasonable and has a good selection of both red and white wines.Recommend it highly and would return anytime.

We decided last minute that we wanted to have pizza's and went to Il Camino. Unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked but they could serve us on their terrace which has heaters. The staff are friendly , the service quick and pizza's great. and all of that for a friendly price

Nice location, outdoor seating, rural atmosphere. Staff not friendly. Takes long time to being served. ( several occasions)? No apolgy for mistakes, like forgetting order, not willing to take order for snacks at 11.45, because they didn't serve snacks before12.00.Cold coffee. Rating could easily be so much better if staff would be friendlier, more hospitable .

Has two Michelin stars
De Leest is the other of two 3 Michelin star rated restaurants in the Netherlands. We had lunch here.Reception was casual not too formal and welcoming.Ambiance of restaurant is warm and pleasant, comfortable seats and temperature. We had 6 absolutely surprising spoon size appetizers before our other courses.I will not bother you with all the food we ate but if you like asian styled flavors in a contemporary version, De Leest is your restauarant. Many citrus flavors, lime, lemon, verbena, bergamot and thai/ indian spiced flavors.Smooth fresh creamy flavors, many fish items on the menu. The cuisson is just perfect for all dishes. The plates are being composed like small art work, which one may expect in a 3 star restaurant.Lovely matching combinations, no dare devils...The coffee or tea is being served with a numerous number of delicious, beautiful presented and tasty sweet bites.the wine list is just gorgeous and very affortable. If i had to name some draw backs of De leest it will be the use of many same tasting cirtus style flavors and the lack of seasonal game or dark meats on their menu.To conclude, De Leest is less pretentious and welcoming than the other 3 star restaurant in The Netherlands and its easier to get a reservation here.Their wonderful food is absolutely fantastic, but the goodie is that one pays way less here than at other same level restaurants.

Brilliant food (especially the Peking duck), excellent service, nice decor, well thought out menu (no infinity of dishes like in most chinese restaurants). Just forget all your prejudices about the General Chinese Restaurant and go eat here. You won't regret it.Can definitely recommend.

This elegantly decorated restaurant offers seemingly interesting "surprise" menu options, but as I had but an hour to finish my dinner, I chose to take the main course of pike perch (zander) only. The fish was fresh, but came with dry-as-dust oven-fried potatoes. The accompanying wine was OK.Service was correct and friendly. The bill including mineral water and coffee came just over 30 EUR.Next time I'll take the surprise menu.

Prima, in Dutch, means "excellent" and that it was. We decided to go out for dinner and Prima was recommended. The small menu offered a nice combination of Dutch fare. We were intrigued by the "surprise" menus, offering 3,4 or 5 courses. all three of us settled on the 4 course offering and we were not disappointed. From a wonderful offering of Steak Tartare to creamy asparagus soup (perhaps the tastiest I have ever had) and a delicious corn fed chicken offering we enjoyed a leisurely dinner. The service by our waitress was delightful and un-rushed. No doubt we'll be back before we return home, even if it is just for a drink and some Bitterballen.

Fat Alice is a sort of southern style restaurant. They have not too many things on the menu, and they're not haute cuisine. However, the food is yummy. Two years ago we were directed here with the mention: "best ribs on the Veluwe". He wasn't wrong, the meat fell off the rib when you put your teeth in it - and the spice is just right. This year we were around Nunspeet again and Fat Alice was made a 'must go' by the kids.Waiters work hard, but they are still quite relaxed about it. Don't expect snappy service though, this is not that type of place. So, if you're in a hurry, go somewhere else. If you want excellent food, go here.
