Unawatuna is a coastal town in Galle district of Sri Lanka. Unawatuna is a major tourist attraction in Sri Lanka and famous for its beautiful beach and corals. It is a suburb of Galle, about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) southeast to the city center and approximately 108 kilometres (67 mi) south of Colombo. Unawatuna is situated at an elevation of 5 metres (16 ft) above the sea level.

We ate here on our first night in Sri Lanka. Setting on the beach is amazing; food was average, but not expensive. We wouldn't have come back, except that after a storm on our last night everywhere else was closed so we ate here again. This time we chose a selection of fresh seafood including a whole red snapper. Food was nice,however over priced. Atmosphere was excellent, even u visit alone you will not feel board.Stayed back for the beach party which stared on a positive pitch while the manager was on control. The music which was played by the DJ is really questionable ????Rated 3 star purely for the beach party music,entrance for ladies will be free, guys you need to get tickets. All booze will be charged extra. Would have extended a better service and different type of music to suit all, for the amount that was charged.

We had dinner at Black and White restaurant last night. The most beautiful setting on the beach lit by candlelight. Our waiter was fantastic and so friendly!We went to have a look at todayâs fish which was freshly caught that day and had it all explained by the head chef (who was also great and very friendly!). We went with the jumbo prawns and tiger prawns and oh my goodness!! They were cooked in a garlic butter sauce and were INCREDIBLE! And we had finger bowls which is the first restaurant that has provided us with these this trip (without asking)!Highly recommend Black and White restaurant to anyone visiting Unawatuna. Our most favourite meal whilst in Sri Lanka and that is saying something as the food has been fabulous. Service makes the experience even better. This place is awesome! Manoja and her family are so hospitable and welcoming. She treats her restaurant and customers like guests in her home. Iâve visited for the three-veggie curry special a handful of times.. every time has been excellent!!! Amazing food for an excellent value - definitely worth coming back!!!!

We arrived late in Galle Fort after a long drive from Ella via Udawalawe National Park and needed a feed. We stumbled across Elita and it was probably the best dinner we had in Galle Fort. Prices were on the very slightly higher end but after getting our plates we saw why. I had a whole snapper in a yellow coconut curry which was cooked perfectly and my husband had the grilled Prawns which looked more lobsters they were so big!Excellent meal and nice friendly staff. Dear Sir/MadamWe greatly appreciate your review. We always serve big portions with catch-of-the-day fresh seafood. And we are so happy to hear that you had been satisfied with your meal in Elita. We did not stay at this lovely property but ate in it 3 nights out of 7! Food was wonderful, beside the sea with turtles popping their heads up a few metres away in the waves. Great, friendly staff and freshly prepared food. Also one of the fab swings that goes over the sea is part of the property.
