Great restaurant next to the harbour with fresh produce, great service and very good value. Had 5 course lunch here yesterday for four people with wine included for â¬106 euros! Will be returning very soon.

Visited with a party of 12 on a balmy September evening . A very warm welcome followed by an excellent fresh seafood meal that would not have disgraced the best fish restaurants anywhere! The rice from the region was recommended and was outstanding. Wine list well chosen and not expensive. Lovely place....

In Delta de l'Ebre (the most impotant natural lands in de catalan litoral), there are several restaurants where you can eat nice traditional meals. But in Can Batiste you can find traditional products from the area, cooked in a very modern way. Fish, seafood, 'paella', everything is tasty. They have a large menu of wines and the service is excellent. The restaurant is not in the seafront, has not nice views from the dinning room, but it doesn't matter if you are a real foodie.

Letâs start with the positives. The food is amazing! The cooking is to a very high standard and, some dishes at Michelin-star level, with great presentation and some wonderfully creative cooking. For this standard of cooking the prices are reasonable. The chef, Albert Guzman, seems a thoroughly nice man, who manages to find the time to speak with his guests, which is really appreciated. However, the quality of the food is not matched by the quality of the setting and the standard of the service. The restaurant sits on the ground floor of an apartment holiday block with 6 or 7 floors above set back from and with no view of the beach. The outside tables were plastic and it was very hot. The outside lights were too bright. Inside it was cooler, but overly light and soulless â awful. The wine selection was disappointing too with odd choices that did not complement the food and no apparent expertise in helping us choose. This talented young chef deserves a better location and front of house support to match his undoubted skills.

We have just had a delicious lunch of fish tapas dishes here. Mejillones marinera were the best mussels I have ever had. Cooked in a slightly herby, thickened jus which was perfect to mop up with crust bread. Bunulos bacalao, cod fritters, were light as a feather and fried boqueron equally delicious. Washed down with a local vermouth and a beer and followed by an almond flan to share and coffee. Sitting outside in the sun watching the world go by in this delightful sleepy fishing harbour made a perfect lunch stop. Cristina, the owner was so lovely and friendly I just wish I had better Spanish or Catalan to chat to her properly about the yummy food. Saw several paellas and rice broth dishes come out of the kitchen and they looked wonderful too. May return before we leave to try one. Absolutely top marks.

Family restaurant specializes in fish, seafood and rice, also some meet. Our special dishes:Paella, Suquet, fresh fish and meet. We always closed in november(OUR HOLIDAYS)
The "Menu Turistic" was advertised on a board outside at â¬20 per person. We hadn't booked but there was availability for a late lunch in their outside pavilion-type room with sea views. We started with a large green salad to share, served with the lightest toasted bread I've ever tasted and aioli, followed by hot steamed mussels, a seafood paella, desserts of crema catalana and "flan". Wine was included - the white, in particular, was delicious - and coffees were too.We only had two minor gripes;1. The paella arrived and was placed next to our table before we'd finished eating the mussels.2. As the menu was advertised at â¬20 and everything we had was included we were expecting the bill to be â¬40 for two but it was â¬44. IVA (tax) of 10% was added. As this is not an optional charge, why advertise it as a â¬20 menu when it costs â¬22? The meal was worth the higher price, but this practice is just irritating and unnecessary. Then when we paid by credit card the price was converted from euros to GBPs without consulting us. Not surprisingly the restaurant's bank converts at an unfavourable rate plus a commission charge, which my credit card wouldn't have done. Why do some restaurants do this without asking the customer if they want the bill converted to another currency? In the end the meal for two advertised at â¬40 costed â¬46, which wasn't what we expected.I have given this restaurant 5 stars based on the food and service (other than the mistimed paella) alone. Thanks for your evaluation, it helps us improve day by day. For our part we always charge in the currency that the client tells us. Bank commissions suffered a lot.

Having read the reviews on TA we decided to give lunch a try. Obviously a very popular place as we had the last free table.A bottle of white wine, not an expensive one, some sparkling water followed by calamari, then a baked fish with onions, potatoes and garlic to share and finally I had a small ice cream. Service was exactly what you expect, not to fast and not to slow but probably just about right. We sat outside on a lovely sunny day with lovely views of the harbour. The only disappointment came with a bill for 95 Euro, which I think was over the top for what we had,and no I won't be going back.

Excellent food again in this restaurant, well-known for their rice. They served an excellent "arroz con langostas rojas" - rice and a kind of crayfish - which is something delicious from the region. Excellent desert, good service, many people and a lot of life in the room. A nice place.

Probably our favorite restaurant in Les Cases d' Alcanar. The food is very good, the service is very friendly and it's very nice place.Maybe the "only problem" is that we like as much certain dishes that we always eat the same thing. The octopus with potatoes and the rice with artichoke and little squid are essential. There is also a good seafood from the Delta and good fish, I remember especially the "gall de sant pere". In short: highly recommended.
