First time trying Local Cuisine in Temple, I’m heavily influenced by TripAdvisor reviews and decided to give this place a shot. Christie our server was great, we started off With Moscato, and Oyster Rockefeller’s. As our entree I ordered the Blackened Redfish, with a side of Truffle Mac and Cheese. The Mac and Cheese was crisp and creamy, while the Redfish tasted fresh. Being from the coast, I’m always weary of having places advertise fresh fish and it’s actually frozen. Needless to say we will be back.

Upon entering the humble restaurant that is Thai Cafe, you can already start feeling the comfort and warmth, as you can see the owner, Thi, working on any pending dishes in the kitchen. Thi keeps a close eye on things and prepare the dishes himself, ensuring everything is to the best standards, authentic and very fresh. There's a take-out style counter right upfront, but there's also a dine-in area with tables and chairs. The dishes is where Thai Cafe truly shines, as it has a menu composed of over 50 different Thai dishes, each prepared carefully with unique spices and utmost care. There's a lunch special menu (from 11:00AM to 2:00PM) that features many popular dishes such as Pad Thai or Red Curry for a very affordable price, and every lunch special comes with a free eggroll. From all the dishes that I've tried here so far, not a single one disappointed me so far; I'd mainly recommend the Khao Soi, Massaman Curry, and the Pad Woon Sen.Thai Cafe also stands out in terms of drinks, because in addition to the usual Thai tea and coffee, you can also find amazing smoothies here, all made by the team with the best fruits. The young coconut smoothie is simply a must have, and there are also other flavors such as pineapple and even a Thai tea smoothie. Smoothies are definitely a good addition to spicy food and to the heat of summer or warmer days. I've been coming to Thai Cafe since they opened earlier last year, and how far they've improved and evolved is amazing. New dishes are always being added to the menu, the environment gets updates from time to time, and Thi and the team are always working to make a good costumer experience even better. Thai Cafe is definitely a hidden gem, as it's in Temple, but if you have the time, come pay them a visit, because you won't be disappointed. It's the best Thai food I've had so far, without a doubt.Thank you for your great review on our restaurant! We work really hard to serve the best food in a great environment, I', glad to see those effort pay off on your last visit. We will make sure to keep our highest quality food and service. Hope to have you back soon

While driving by, I saw the posted ad for cod dinner for $5.99. Even if I don't don't like it a lot, I'm only out $6. What the heck.... The fries were good, the hush puppies better, and the cod was great! Batter-dipped and crispy on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside. The following week, I made it a point to plan to eat dinner here -- and I'm going to do it again!
