A mix of locals and tourists in this traditional restaurant a little away from the main drag. My partnerâs pork and clams proved as tasty as in the reviews, though it looked unappetising. My fried sea bass with almonds was a dull dry fish and chips. Nice dessert before a 25-minute wait for the bill.

We arrived at 9 pm on a Thursday- restaurant was very busy. Initially we were placed at a table indoors- it was very hot - they managed to move us outside. The bread/sardines were 6 euro and delivered without asking. Water was 2 euro. We shared burrata salad with spinach pears and walnuts. The burrata was excellent. Hubby had grilled octopus - compared to other restaurants it was average and the portion was small. The side salad had an amazing dressing. I had shrimp with garlic appetizer-it was very flavorful but shrimp were overcooked. We had a bottle of wine for 13euro. All together the dinner cost over $50 euro- our second most expensive meal in Tavira . Service was ok- not very friendly... I wont bother to go back. First of all we thank you for your opinion, because our goal is to always improve and we can only reach this objective based on feedback from our clients. We will be happy to welcome you again in our establishment.Best regards

Yahoo!! We found this stunning, cosy, gem of a restaurant thanks to a recommendation from our guesthouse manager. We wanted traditional Portuguese food, ambience, true Portuguese interior, etc. to get the feel of Tavira and this is exactly what we got and more! We even had a fridge filled with sodas next to our table... no problem, it added to the casualness of this restaurant. Come on let's not be snobs! We truly loved this restaurant. We had the assorted grilled fish which consisted of 4 extremely tasty, grilled, fresh fish. We chose a side portion of chips and the food was outstanding! We also ordered a caraffe of red house wine which was amazing! Loved our quirky happy waiter who was efficient and hardworking! Don't be in a hurry, enjoy the ambience and good food.

It is on the quay side. Small and a favourite of ours. Owned by two sisters - Julia is M'd - wonderful host. Lunch/tourist menu is excellent value.
Julia and her family continue to serve the best salads in this whole of the Algarve and the best fish in Tavira. The landlady is also very entertaining and a great source of local gossip, but she is often far too busy to stop to talk. Wonderful. Unique. Amazing. Thank you!

We have been here on two occasions now. The food is delicious and the service is superb. If you are looking for an alternative to portugese food but still with an authentic twist then give this place a try! Good value for money and nice for couples of families. Would recommend the rabbit and clams and also the seafood tagliatelle.

We stopped here whilst having a walk around. We originally stopped for a cider, but ended up having tapas. Its sligjtky further along the river. On the first visit, we had the mixed board, which had a mixture of cheeses and meats, and the prawns. The second time we visited we had the same again, but with the eggs and chorizo. It was all very tasty and freshly cooked. It didnt all come out together, just when it was ready. It was the same girl that served us both times. She was really nice, and when we went back the 2nd time, she remembered us from the first time and knew what we ordered previously. We sat outside both times, but there is seating inside as well. A lovely place that we hope to visit again.

Is a place where you are always welcome, and feel like home. Exelent steaks. Just feel the difference. SMALL RESTAURANT . Reservations is very welcome. Thank you.
I went for the Angus sirloin steak and wasn't disappointed My partner opted for the salmon plus prawns and she was impressed, which is praise indeed! All the tables are on street and you need to book at least 24 hours beforehand so to ensure you secure a table!
