Very Big Thai and Seafood restaurant on the banks of rh Tapee River in the centre of Surat. This place has it all, River Cruise Vessel, Karaoke Lounge, Private dining, River Terrace, Gym, Table tennis..... Back the to Food.I ate fresh Oysters (The Tapee river is famous for them), Squid fried with Chili and Basil leaf, Somtam Poo maa (papaya salad with raw blue crab) and Goong Chair nam plaa (Tiger prawns with spicy dip). The portions were more than adequate, The food perfectly spiced Thai style, not dumbed down, and not sweet as you often find.Did not take dessert, don't eat them, Friendly service, wish I had more time in Surat to go back. Menu is in Thai, but in the end, you will find womeone to help you choose. Dinner for two including a couple of beers, 1200 baht. Great value for a seafood restaurant.

Surat Thani with it Gulf of Tapi had been famous for its seafood. Therefore the Lumpu original restaurant must had established their ground and offer fresh seafood (specially shellfishes) in this gulf. However now-a-day, there is 2-3 restaurants by the same name and can be confusing. We tried all of them and would go for any one. However after years of dining with the Tapi Gulf, we always came out happy with Lumpu 1 (ONE).

Went to this restaurant while walking at the lipanoi beach. Restaurant is at the beach and has a good view of the ocean. Seafood platter we ordered was excellent and fresh. Red Thai curry with pork and chicken larp was great. Drinks was good too. Was 1000 THB for lunch including drinks. Waiters were courteous and friendly.

This market was a treat.. the shop stalls went on and on all the way to the beach. On entry the waft of freshly cooked food would tempt anyone.As the sunset the colourful fairy lights flickered and set a stunning set.I did not feel at all scared of pick pockets at any stage.. i felt safe at all times

It seems that the owners have neglected this restaurant in terms of the cooking and the staffs. Food were pretty much tasteless and not cooked well. Service was slow and the staffs seemed very lazy and could not care much. Non of the 6 dishes that we ordered came out good.A fair comparison would be the equivalent of eating a disappointing burger at McDonalds while advertising the food as being from Wolfgang Puck's.

We chosen this place to enjoy a scenic Tapi River dinner However, the guy on solo singing/live music sang amazingly sad and moody songs to ruin the evening. Perhaps we were not familiar with the Thai song selections but the singing tone was just too sad and moody to enjoy the 'romantic' evening dinner by the river Food was so so with prices a little on the high side. Surprisingly, only one lady was able to communicate with us with passable English . Pro: Nice river view Con: Not so great service as only one could speak some English the live solo-singing ruined the mood Food so so only Slightly pricey

Went tonight with family and friends. Basic furnishings but very in keeping with the surroundings. We sat by the beach. Ordered a selection of dishes and shared. They do give you the option of how much chilli you want.....unless you are native Thai I suggest asking for it mild to medium.....definitely not hot. Very cheap, very delicious and worth a second visit.

We stayed near this restaurant and ate here 3 times. The food is great and much cheaper than our hotel, the service is spot on and restaurant has a great atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and helpful, happily recommending dishes when asked. Full range of food available, served quickly and freshly cooked. Highly recommended
